Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, the son of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, celebrated his second birthday on May 6, and members of the Royal Family sent their best wishes to him.

The Queen, and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, took to Instagram to share their sweet tributes to the little prince, who is currently seventh in line of succession to the British throne.

shared a touching photo of himself proudly gazing at his grandson, taken during the Totts July 2019 Quisning to mark the occasion.

However, some royal fans were left wondering why members of the family used out-of-date stock images of in their public birthday messages to him.

It has now been claimed that has only met the British members of his family a number of times, with Charles having no up-to-date images with the toddler.

Palace aides found it difficult to put together a social media post as they have a distinct lack of public photographs of Archie.

It is also said that both William and Catherine can count their meetings with Archie easily on one hand.

As for meetings with his cousins, , Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, it is thought that they have only met Archie once.

An insider told the Daily Mail that the truth is the Prince of Wales has barely seen his grandson twice since he was born.

In fact, every member of Harry's family can easily count on one hand the number of times they saw Archie after he was born and before the family left the UK.

Another separate insider told the publication that the fact Buckingham Palace and the other royal households posted something so publicly when they are no longer working royals is clearly a sign every effort is being made, on their behalf at least, to try and retain and nurture a relationship with Harry and Meghan, however fragile.

The source reportedly stressed that no one is directly to blame for the lack of family connections.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex sensationally quit the royal family last year and moved first to Vancouver Island on Canada's west coast and then to Los Angeles, where they now reside.

The pandemic has meant that they have been unable to make social visits to return to the UK, although Harry was back in Windsor briefly for his grandfather's funeral.

The Queen and other family members have mostly had to make do with video calls.

However, there have also been multiple reports of a rift between Harry and his brother, , and their dad, Prince Charles, particularly since Harry met his wife, .

Tensions culminated when Harry opened up about his strained relationship with Charles and William during his and Meghan's tell-all interview with in March, when he admitted that his father was no longer answering his calls.

Harry said during the interview that he felt let down by his dad.

He knows what pain feels like and Archie's his grandson, but at the same time, of course, I will always love him, he noted.

On May 6th, Harry and Meghan celebrated the second birthday of Archie.

To mark the special day, the couple shared a brand new photo of their son on their website for ArchieWell.

The muted photo featured Archie standing on some grass while holding a bunch of balloons, perhaps in the yard at his home in California.

While his face isn't visible in the pic, the toddler was wearing a pair of jeans, Nike sneakers and a long-sleeved top.

To mark Archie's second birthday, Harry and Meghan asked fans to make a donation to Global Citizen in an effort to bring vaccines to families in the world's most vulnerable places.

They did not publicly wish their son a happy birthday, but sources have shared some details on how the couple went all out for their baby boy's special day.
