Archie Mountbatten-Windsor Turns Two: Royal Family Sends Birthday Wishes
The Royal Family has sent their best wishes to Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, the great-grandson of Queen Elizabeth II, on his second birthday.
Archie is currently living with his parents, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, in the United States.
The Queen is reportedly planning to speak to Archie via video call to celebrate the occasion.
Buckingham Palace posted a message on its Instagram and Twitter accounts alongside a photo of Archie's parents introducing him to the world two years ago.
The message read, “Wishing Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a very happy second birthday today,” followed by a red balloon emoji.
Thousands of followers have already liked and retweeted the post, with many adding their own birthday wishes for the young prince.

Prince Charles also shared a picture of his grandson on Instagram, showing him being cradled by his father at his christening.
Charles' message read, “Happy birthday to Archie, who turns two today.”
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also joined in, sharing a picture taken at Archie's christening, featuring Meghan's mother Doria Ragland, as well as Princess Diana's sister, Lady Jane Fellows and Lady Sarah McCorkindale.
Their message read, “Wishing Archie a very happy second birthday today.”
Archie was born at the exclusive Portland Hospital in central London on May 6, 2019, but has never celebrated a birthday in his home country.
The family moved to Canada and then the US as the Sussexes quit their roles as senior royals to pursue their own projects.
On his first birthday last year, the Sussexes shared a sweet video recorded by Harry showing Meghan reading the book Duck, Rabbit to Archie as he sits on her lap.
Archie has only been seen rarely during the past 12 months, but did feature in a black and white video clip released in March, showing him walking along a beach watched by his parents and the family's pet dog, Guy.
Despite the family's move to the US and the Covid-19 pandemic, Archie and his great-grandmother's connection has still been strong.
According to the Times, on a particular Zoom call which took place to celebrate Queen Elizabeth's birthday, she commented that Archie had inherited his father's red hair.
Prince Harry and James Corden discussed the relationship between the Queen and Archie, revealing that when the Duke of Edinburgh was alive, both of his grandparents would get on Zoom and have seen Archie running around.
Harry also shared a sweet story about his son, his grandmother and a special gift.
His grandmother asked what Archie wanted for Christmas and Meghan said a waffle maker.
So she sent them a waffle maker.
Prince Harry said they all mix up their orders with a bit of yoghurt, a bit of jam on top, a bit of berries, maybe some honey, maybe some syrup and that when Archie wakes up, he is quick to ask for waffles.
For his second birthday, Archie will also have a video date with the Queen and his cousins to celebrate his big day, according to royal expert Katie Nicholl.
Harry and Meghan are expected to do a round of Zoom calls with family, including Prince Charles, Prince William and his children, and the Queen, so they can wish Archie a happy birthday.
Speaking to OK!
Magazine, Nicholl said, “Lockdown is lifting and the sun in California is shining.
I'm sure they'll have a lovely celebration at home.
Harry will make a really big fuss of Archie.”
However, Nicholl also revealed that Prince Harry faces a difficult challenge in trying to help his children bond with their cousins.
He always wanted his children to grow up close to William and Kate's, but sadly, it's looking increasingly unlikely for Archie.
Despite this, the Royal Family's birthday wishes show that Archie is still very much loved and cherished by his family.
