Baker Reveals 244lb Floral Two-Tier Strawberry Buttercream Cake for Lilibet’s First Birthday

The baker who made Harry and Meghan's wedding cake, Claire Ptack, has revealed a new snap of a 244lb floral two-tier strawberry buttercream cake made for 's first birthday.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex hosted a relaxed garden party in June for their daughter at the Windsor estate with birthday cake balloons, party games, and picnic snacks.

The latest snap of the birthday cake comes as royal fans claim that the cake and 's birthday picture appear to be photoshopped.

East London baker Claire Ptack created treats for the low-key bash, including a two-tier cake that featured a seasonal strawberry buttercream.

Yesterday, she shared a new snap of the cake on Instagram as part of a highlights reel of 2022, saying, “Our 2022 greatest hits!

Thank you to all of our customers and supporters last year for inspiring such beautiful work.”

Trending:

The top and sides of the cake were scented with a buttercream made from juice and zest of lemons from the Amalfi coast and decorated with chopped candied Amalfi lemon peel.

At the time, Claire wrote on the brand's Instagram, “It was an absolute pleasure to make the special cake last week for Lilibet's birthday.

Wishing her a very happy year ahead.”

She added, “The inside was Amalfi lemon and elderflower cake I created for the Duke and Duchess' wedding in 2018, but this time we covered it with a strawberry buttercream specially for Lilibet.”

The couple later shared clips of the event with their fans in their bombshell Netflix documentary Harry and Meghan.

In the videos, Harry and Meghan can be seen lifting up Lilibet as she blew out the candles on a cake.

However, some netizens are questioning the authenticity of the photos, claiming that they were photoshopped.

One netizen commented, “Please could they make their minds up where and when the photos were taken?

Or were there two identical birthday cakes, one in Windsor and one in Montecito?

That clearly isn't the garden of Frogmore Cottage.

Maybe they flew it back across the Atlantic untouched because no one important came to Invisalilly's birthday party at Frogmore during the Platinum Jubilee.”

Another chimed in, “Those black and white striped lawn chairs were at a house in Canada.

There was a TIG post with those same lawn chairs.

I find it hard to believe she had them shipped to the UK.

I also find it hard to believe she had them shipped from Canada to Montecito.

They're wrought iron patio furniture that looks worn.”

A spokesman for the Sussexes didn't name family members who attended the party at the time, but Zara and Mike Tyndall were believed to have made an appearance.

However, , Catherine, George, and Charlotte were in Wales representing the Queen.

Those who are said to have been at Frogmore Cottage include Zara and Mike Tyndall's three children Mia 8, Lena 3, and Lucas 1, as well as Savannah and Isla, daughters of Peter Phillips and Autumn Kelly.

Three-year-old 's godfather Charlie Van Straubenzee and his brother Tom, godfather to , were also invited, it's understood.

Some netizens have criticized the birthday party, saying that it hardly qualifies as a party.

One user said, “You would have other mums with their babies there, balloons and food on the table, even if it was only carrot sticks and dip.”

Another user questioned the authenticity of the photo, saying, “The little boy looks totally uninterested, as if it's not real.

People think the picture is definitely photoshopped.”

Despite the controversy surrounding the authenticity of the photos, Claire Ptack's stunning creation has certainly caught the attention of many.

With its delicate floral design and delicious strawberry buttercream, it's no wonder that this cake has become a highlight of the baker's 2022 collection.
