Catherine, Princess of Wales Appoints New Personal Secretary
In the midst of recent controversies surrounding the royal family, Catherine, Princess of Wales has decided it's time for a change.
She has appointed a new personal secretary, public relations guru Alice Corfield, who has previously worked for celebrity Jamie Oliver and Richard Branson's Virgin Company.
This move comes after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's recent tell-all interviews.
Corfield, 51, replaces Kate's former secretary Hannah Cochran-Logie, who left the job in 2022.
She has been hired to shake things up at Kensington Palace, according to an insider who spoke to the Sunday Times.
The source, who worked with her on a Jamie Oliver campaign, described Corfield as a straight talker and ball breaker.
Trending:
“She makes things happen and will really push things forward at the palace,” the insider said.
As Kate's most senior aide, Corfield will have major clout and essentially become her right-hand woman.
However, the appointment has raised some eyebrows, with the insider adding that “she's a bit out there for Kensington Palace.”
The source believes there is a need for more modernizers with private sector experience, rather than just civil servants.
Kensington Palace has not commented publicly on the appointment, but it is clear that Kate is strengthening her royal circle.
While she will no doubt be in a prominent position at King Charles' upcoming coronation on May 6th, it's understood that Prince Harry's wife, Meghan, won't be attending.
According to the Daily Mail UK, Harry will only be in the UK for about 48 hours, dubbing it “Harry in a hurry.”
However, the coronation will still have some star power from across the pond.
Hollywood actor Tom Cruise has reportedly been invited to attend and has even put filming of his latest Mission Impossible movie on hold to do so.
Sources told The Sun that Cruise is a “real royalist” and would never turn down such a prestigious event.
He invited William and Kate to the advance screening of his hit film Top Gun Maverick last year, and the trio also appeared together at the London premiere.
It remains to be seen whether Kate's change of personnel will take the spotlight from the Sussexes, or if Harry and Meghan can ever overshadow William and Kate.
