Dame Emma Thompson Shares Memorable Moments with Prince of Wales

Dame Emma Thompson, the Oscar-winning actress, recently shared some of her most memorable moments with the Prince of Wales.

I've always liked him.

I couldn't believe how tall he'd got.

I did say, ‘I suppose I better not kiss you,' and he frankly replied, ‘probably better not.'

I asked him about him and he said, ‘will you please stop talking about me?

It's about you.'

Oh, what a nice man.”

The actress also shared a memorable interaction between the Prince and Princess of Wales and her co-star Emma Stone during a video call.

The group discussed plans to host NHS charities together and NHS staff at a unique drive-in cinema screening of the new film at the Palace of Holyroodhouse and joked about behind-the-scenes secrets.

Speaking to the couple ahead of the screening, Thompson said, “wait till you see the clothes.

It's unbelievable.”

Then gesturing to the Princess of Wales, the actress said, “you're going to want all of Emily's, Emma Stone's, clothes.

They're so amazing.

Obviously you won't be able to wear them in public, but they're so brilliant.”

The actress who played the role of the Baroness in the film also had an amusing story to add to the mix.

She recounted how one day when they were shooting, there was a demonstration in London and their car couldn't get where they were shooting in Covent Garden.

Thompson decided they had to get out and take the tube.

She was in full costume as the Baroness, wearing a wig and heavy makeup.

When they got on the train, it was so crowded that no one noticed her outlandish appearance and everyone thought she was a drag act on the way home.
