Diana’s Wedding Gown Label To Be Changed After Harry Agrees to Stop Using HRH Title

Diana's famous wedding gown, along with her honeymoon outfit, is on display at the Royal Style in the Making Exhibition, which opened this week.

The exhibition showcases what it's like to design an outfit for a royal client.

However, the signs describing Diana's items as lent by HRH the Duke of Cambridge and HRH the Duke of Sussex will now be changed to remove Harry's HRH style.

According to the Sunday Times, Harry has agreed to stop using his HRH title as part of Megshe, and as a result, the signs at the exhibition will be updated.

A spokesman for the Royal Collection Trust said that Diana's pieces were loaned by HRH the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex.

They added that due to an administrative error, for which the Royal Collection Trust was responsible, the labels were incorrect and will be updated.

and Harry loaned their late mother's wedding dress and her honeymoon outfit to the exhibition, which opened on June 3 and will continue until the New Year.

Diana's dress is now among the most famous in bridal history, complete with its 25-feet sequin-encrusted train that dramatically filled the Isle of St Paul's Cathedral when she married in 1981.

It features a fitted bodice overlaid at the centre both front and back with panels of antique Carrick macross lace that had originally belonged to Queen Mary.

It also has a scooped neckline and large puffed sleeves that are trimmed with bows and deep ruffles of taffeta, a style made popular by Diana in the early 1980s.

The designers, David and Elizabeth Emanuel, also crafted a full skirt for the dress that is supported on a mountain of stiff net petticoats.

It is the first time Diana's dress has gone on show for 25 years.

Changes to the signs to remove Harry's HRH style at the exhibition come after the Sussexes were demoted on the Royal Family's official website.

Harry and Meghan were previously listed near the top of the page, just under and Kate, but they have now been bumped down to below Prince Edward, Sophie, Princess Anne, and .

The Sussexes quit Royal duties in March 2020 and are now living in California.

The couple has hit out at the Royal Family in a series of recent interviews, including their controversial tell-all chat with .

Harry has also lashed out during an appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast and during his Apple TV documentary series The Me You Can't See.
