Duchess Kate’s Children Play Special Role in Garden Design

The Duchess of Cambridge, , has revealed that her children, , , and , played a special role in the design of the nature garden she helped create for the Chelsea Flower Show.

On Monday evening, Kate invited members of the Royal Family to take a first look at the garden.

While chatting with the Queen, Kate disclosed that all the sticks used in the garden were from Anmer, their country home, and that her children collected the pine cones.

The addition of the pine cones is even more special because Anmer Hall is the house where George and Charlotte spent their early years before their move to Kensington Palace.

Kate's garden was a hit not only with the Royal Family but also with her children.

George sweetly told his dad that he would rate his mum's garden 20 out of 10.

Charlotte, on the other hand, screamed with delight and exclaimed “Ooh Los Angeles Law” as she ran around the outdoor space with her brothers.

During the 45-minute visit on Sunday afternoon, George and Charlotte climbed up into the treehouse of the garden.

Kate made her first of two visits on Monday morning to see her garden again and meet a group of school children.

She revealed that her children surprised her when they visited the garden for the first time.

“The children played last night in a way I hadn't imagined.

They were throwing stones.

I hadn't actually thought that that was what they would be doing.

They kicked their shoes off and wanted to paddle in the stream, using it in a way that I hadn't anticipated,” Kate said.

News of Kate's involvement with the Chelsea Flower Show was first revealed in February.

Landscape designer Adam White, who worked with Kate on the garden, said, “She is very hands-on, model-making, emailing images, coming up with all the ideas that we want to capture.

She would often bring a folder of cuttings with her full of ideas.

The Duchess was very keen to use natural materials, has a clear idea of the colour palette she wants and her desire to incorporate the natural elements.”

The Cambridge family spends a lot of their time at Anmer Hall, making the garden even more special to them.
