Duchess of Cambridge Honoured by Queen as She Attends Carol Concert

The Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine, has been granted a significant honour by the Queen during her attendance at a carol concert.

Dressed in a festive red Catherine Walker dress with a bow detail on the top, the Duchess appeared wearing a pair of earrings borrowed from her grandmother-in-law, 's jewellery box, as she attended the Together at Christmas community carol service at Westminster Abbey on Wednesday.

According to Royal Watchers, this is a sure sign that Catherine has Her Majesty's trust and respect.

The Art Deco style earrings were originally owned by the late Queen Mother, the beloved mother of , who died in 2002 at the age of 101.

Catherine, who has worn the special earrings on a few other occasions, hosted the Royal Carols Together at Christmas event at Westminster Abbey on Wednesday to pay tribute to heroes of the coronavirus pandemic.

Zara and Mike Tindall were also photographed arriving at the historic venue in the heart of London.

The Queen, who carried out official duties at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, also found a way to support her granddaughter-in-law's holiday event.

The monarch donated some Christmas trees from Windsor Great Park to help decorate the Abbey.

Trees were also donated by the Royal Horticultural Society and will be donated to local schools.

The Royal Carols Together at Christmas film for broadcast features carols sung by the Westminster Abbey Choir alongside musical performances from Ellie Goulding, who sang a rendition of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Scottish singer Tom Walker, and Bleeding Love singer Leona Lewis, who sang Oh Holy Night.

gave a speech, while British Paralympian and junior doctor Kim Daybell and television host Kate Garraway also spoke.

However, royal fans will have to wait until Christmas Eve before the concert is broadcast on ITV.

This is not the first time Catherine has borrowed items from Her Majesty.

She has been lent things before by the Queen on many special occasions.

On April 21st, the Queen's birthday, the Duchess borrowed a pair of pearl and diamond earrings from the Queen herself for a surprise visit to 282 Squadron Air Training Corps in East London.

The Duchess of Cambridge has sported the accessory on multiple occasions, but it is likely not a coincidence that she chose them for the Queen's birthday.

The Duchess paired the earrings with a black, double-breasted pea coat, representative of the mourning period, and black pumps.

For Prince Philip's funeral, the Duchess wore a four-strand pearl and diamond choker, also borrowed from the Queen.

The necklace was originally gifted to the Queen from Japan in the 1970s, and she wore it frequently.

Catherine paired the choker with the Queen's Bahrain pearl earrings, made from pearls gifted to the Queen for her wedding to Prince Philip.

More than just jewelry, the Duchess recently borrowed the Queen's Bentley to attend Remembrance Sunday with Prince William, which according to royal experts signified big plans for her future in the royal family.

Royal expert Daniela Elsa claimed the usage of Her Majesty's personal vehicle was a signal of her approval.

She also pointed out that such a vehicle would be at William's disposal when he takes to the throne.

Ms Elsa added that the couple did not appear in their usual family Audi, or even in the electric Jaguar they occasionally use, but in what appeared to be one of the Queen's very own especially built state Bentleys.

Speaking on the Royal Podcast, God Save the Queen, commentator Antonio Caparica said the Duchess may be the firm's next saviour.

She explained, “I said before the dynasty has been saved by the women and the next saviour will be Kate.”
