Duchess of Cambridge takes the lead in remoulding the monarchy

The Duchess of Cambridge has been playing a significant role in reshaping the monarchy since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from their senior royal roles.

According to reports, her work has been refocused in the past year, and she has found confidence in her role as a senior royal.

Historian and author Sarah Griswood spoke to Vanity Fair's Katie Nicholl about the Duchess' newfound confidence, saying, “I'll bet those courtiers who reportedly once sneered about weighty Katie are the very ones bowing lowest now.

She looks like the person who's going to have to play a big hand in the ongoing remoulding of the monarchy.”

The Duchess of Cambridge has come a long way since 2008 when she was tagged “weighty Katie” by some people.

However, since joining the royal family in 2010, she has become very focused on her role, according to sources.

Despite the heartache caused by Harry and Meghan's exit, it has made Catherine even more determined and confident in the past 18 months.

Sources say that the Duchess wants to bring about real, lasting change, particularly with her passion project on early years development.

They revealed, “The Duchess is definitely doing things that are different and outside her comfort zone these days, and that's because she feels confident doing them.

She's very comfortable in her royal role and her family role.

She's a very hands-on mum.

They are a happy family, and that has resulted in a quiet confidence about her.”

After Harry and Meghan's interview with Oprah Winfrey in February, it was said that Catherine became Prince William's pillar of strength amid his rift with his brother, Prince Harry.

A source told US Weekly, “Kate is a natural leader who has a magnificent ability to remain composed even during the most challenging situations.”

Another insider added, “Kate's used to all eyes being on her.

Being in a strong, solid marriage to William helps.

The relationship between the two brothers has been strained for years, and the drama between them has only worsened since Harry and Meghan's Oprah interview.

During the interview, the couple opened up about everything from their royal step back in 2020 to the brothers' rocky relationship.
