Duchess of Cambridge Volunteers Secretly During Pandemic

The Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine, has been revealed to have secretly been volunteering during the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to The Sun, she has been regularly checking in with pensioner Len Gardner over the phone.

Len is a full-time carer for his wife and Catherine has shared details about her home life with her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, including her love of pasta-making and sheep shearing.

Catherine was put in contact with Len by the Royal Voluntary Service during the first lockdown period in March.

Len, 85, from West Yorkshire, was left lost for words when he found out who would be calling him on May 13.

“I was flabbergasted when I found out who would be calling.

The first question I asked was, how do I address you?

She said, call me Catherine,” he said.

After their first two sentences, Len felt at ease talking to a mum of three.

“She told me Prince George and Princess Charlotte were playing in the garden and she was keeping an eye on them through the window,” he recalled.

They also discussed their shared love of Italian food, with Catherine asking whether Len made his own pasta.

Two days later, a brand new pasta machine and two kilos of Italian grading system flour arrived from Buckingham Palace.

Len penned a handwritten thank you note to Catherine, along with several articles he had written and a picture of himself and his wife, Shirley.

He now wishes to meet the Royal, saying, “The Duke and Duchess are a brilliant couple for doing this kind of thing, they really seem to want to reach out to people.

I can tell you, this lady you see on television that goes into the crowds and talks to people, what you see is what you get.

She's a very nice person.”

About a month after their first phone call, Catherine called Len again.

“We spoke for about 40 minutes and I learned more about the Duchess' children,” Len recalled.

Apparently, there are thousands of sheep down at Sandringham and her eldest children couldn't understand how to get wool without killing the animal.

So she took them down to the sheds to watch the sheep being sheared.

Len, who is battling bladder cancer, said he will treasure his conversations with the future Queen for the rest of his life.

Meanwhile, Catherine and Prince William departed for their journey from London, Houston last night.

They plan to make nine stops on a 48-hour tour of Great Britain, sharing their personal thanks to those who worked on the front line during the pandemic.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are known for their charitable work, and this latest revelation shows just how committed they are to helping others.

Catherine's secret volunteering mission is a testament to her kind-hearted nature and willingness to help those in need.
