Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Attend Ascot Races with Special Guests

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made a grand entrance at the much-anticipated Ascot Racecourse today.

The royal couple led members of the firm in the first carriage as part of the Royal Procession.

This marks their first appearance at the races this year, and they did not disappoint.

Kate and William shared the carriage with the Honourable Arthur George Vestey and his wife, Martha.

Arthur, whose elder brother is a close friend of the Duke and a fellow Old Etonian, is also the son of Baron Samuel Vestey, the Queen’s friend and former Master of the Horse.

The decision to ride in the carriage with the Vesteys was described as a lovely gesture by Royal commentator Richard Eden.

Arthur lost both his parents during the pandemic, and his father, Lord Vestey, would often ride in the Queen’s carriage.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s kind gesture was appreciated by many, including those on social media.

On their way to the racecourse, Kate and William were seen chatting amiably with their guests.

As the wind picked up, Kate had to hold on to her hat at one point to ensure it remained in place.

However, she still managed to maintain her composure and elegance throughout the journey.

As their carriage entered the racecourse and passed in front of the enclosures, Kate smiled widely and waved to the crowds of fans who had been gathering over the past few hours.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were clearly enjoying themselves, and their presence added to the excitement of the day.

The only other member of the firm to take part in the procession today was Peter Phillips, Princess Anne’s son.
