Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Pay Special Tribute to Queen on Her 96th Birthday
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have paid a touching tribute to the Queen on her 96th birthday.
Prince William and Catherine shared family photos on their official Twitter page, calling the monarch an inspiration to so many people across the UK, the Commonwealth, and the world.
The tweet included two stunning pictures.
The first was taken in 2019 ahead of the launch of the Chelsea Flower Show.
On that occasion, the Queen was shown around by the Cambridges, the concept garden created by the Duchess for the show, which aimed at inspiring people to spend more time in the great outdoors and experience the positive impact nature has on mental and physical health.
The second photo showed the Queen and her late husband, Prince Philip, posing with seven of their great-grandchildren.

The sweet family photo was taken at Balmoral Castle in 2018 by keen photographer Catherine and shows a more relaxed side to the monarch and her late husband.
The Duke and Duchess's sweet birthday message for the Queen was hugely welcomed by royal fans who joined in on Twitter to celebrate the Queen.
One Twitter user named Queenella Nouveau wrote, “Happy birthday your majesty and a big thank you to W&C for your constant and loving care to the Queen.”
Another user, Michelle 47451990, wrote, “Thank you William and Catherine for taking mega care of your grandma, our national treasure.
Stay blessed.”
Yet another user, Anna Soft Soul, wrote, “Happy birthday your majesty.
God bless you with a wonderful family around you.
Thank you W&C, you are the best example of love, respect, and service.
We love you.”
The Duke and Duchess's touching tribute comes as the Queen celebrates her 96th birthday today at Sandringham.
It is the second year the monarch will be spending her birthday without her late husband Prince Philip, who passed away a year ago.
Biographer Ingrid Stewart previously spoke about Prince Philip's birthday tradition for the monarch stating, “Prince Philip always brings her beautiful bouquets of flowers and I presume that someone will definitely be doing that on his behalf today.
I think she likes white flowers and there's always some lilies of the valley.
She loves flowers.”
Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Labour leader Sikir Starmer have also joined in in sending their birthday wishes.
Following the annual tradition, gun salutes are due to be fired in the monarch's honour today, 21st April.
The Queen has been an inspiration to so many people throughout her life, and her work and commitment have made her a beloved figure not just in the UK, but across the world.
Prince William and Catherine's tribute to the Queen is a testament to the love and respect they have for her.
The photos they shared show a more intimate side to the monarch, and the message they wrote is a reminder of the impact she has had on people's lives.
On this special day, we join in with the rest of the world in wishing Her Majesty a very happy 96th birthday.
May she continue to inspire us all for many years to come.
