Harry and Megan’s Montecito Mansion at Risk of Mudslide and Facing Huge Tax Bills
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Montecito mansion is facing increasing risks of mudslides and wildfires, according to recent reports.
The couple purchased their nine-bedroom, 19-bathroom home in Santa Barbara, California, in 2020 for $14 million, and it has since become a topic of interest for many in the area.
Realtors in Montecito, however, seem to be indifferent towards the couple's presence.
Chris, a power broker in the area, claimed that he doesn't care about them.
He said that there's a broker tour for a new listing in Riven Rock, where Megan and the Prince are located.
Although the area is nice, with large estates and narrow streets, it's not the most beautiful property in town, and the markup has gone up astronomically.

Moreover, rumors have been circulating that the couple is planning to move out of their mansion.
Last week, newspapers reported that their home could be engulfed by a killer mudslide.
A new flood danger map shows that their property is at risk from the kind of storm that left 23 dead and wrecked 130 houses in their millionaire's village in 2018.
Coupled with the ever-present danger of wildfires as the state's drought goes on, it's believed to be behind reports that Harry and Meghan might sell up.
The potential for mudslides keeps rising as wildfires have incinerated much of the vegetation that protects the hilly land around the village, and it's been slow to grow back because of the drought.
But the slightest deviation could see their home hit too.
John Fry, of the Santa Barbara Flood Control District, warned that it's not if it happens again, it's when.
Despite the risks, there hasn't been any confirmation from the couple about their plans to sell their property.
Apart from the environmental risks, Harry and Megan are also facing huge tax bills.
They could be facing bills of over £100,000 on tax over the past year, according to sources.
The bill is a huge sum but it's peanuts in relation to their earnings.
However, the couple is yet to cough up the first installment that was due on December 10th, with the second one payable on February 1st.
In the event any one of the bills is not paid by April 11th, there will be a 10% penalty.
Meanwhile, last month, a putrid smell allegedly inundated Prince Harry and Megan Markle's mansion.
Neighbors in the upscale Santa Barbara community reportedly complained about the issue to no avail.
The scent allegedly comes from the nearby Andre Clark Bird Refuge, a 42-acre saltwater marsh, which is among the largest wildlife refuges in the county.
Sources told the Mirror that the water can become stagnant, leading to a strong odor.
Despite the complaints, realtors in Montecito don't seem to care about the issue.
Chris revealed that his brother texted him to ask about the smell around the couple's property.
He wants the gossip, but Chris claimed that he hasn't noticed anything and that the smell wouldn't affect sales in the area anyway.
In conclusion, Harry and Megan's Montecito mansion has been making headlines for various reasons.
From environmental risks to tax bills and unpleasant odors, the couple seems to be facing a lot of challenges.
However, it remains to be seen whether they will sell their property or stay put and weather the storms.
