Harry and Meghan Markle: From Royalty to Punchline
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have recently become the subject of ridicule, according to a royal expert.
The source of their embarrassment comes from an episode of the animated adult show South Park, titled A Dumb Prince and His Stupid Wife.
In a preview for the unreleased episode, character Kyle complains, “It's seriously driving me crazy.
I'm sick of hearing about them, but I can't get away from them.
They're everywhere.
In my beep face.”

Anne responds with, “Look Kyle, we just don't care about some dumb prince and his stupid wife.”
Royal expert Daniela Elsa, writing for News.com Australia, believes this is evidence that the couple has become a laughing stock.
“Mark your diaries, note down the date, jot this in the history books.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have literally become a laughing stock,” she wrote.
Elsa also noted that this is just the latest in a string of high-profile embarrassments for the couple.
Trevor Noah, while hosting the Grammys, joked that James Corden was proof that a man can come from London to LA and not tell everyone about his frostbitten p-nis.
Chelsea Handler zinged Harry during the Critics Choice Awards, saying, “Dharma became the third highest viewed show on Netflix, with a combined watch time of 1 billion hours.
Which apparently is the same amount of time we're going to have to listen to Prince Harry talking about his frostbitten p-nis.”
Elsa summarizes that the Sussexes are starting to look less like power players and more like a punchline.
Despite Harry's successful book and Meghan's high-performing Spotify podcast, Elsa finds it difficult to see where they go next.
The couple has made themselves objects of permanent fascination but simultaneously of mockery thanks to their regular bouts of on-camera spleen venting and attacks on his family.
Elsa believes that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have become too divisive to be publicly backed by any A-listers.
Elsa cites a moment from the Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan, released in December 2020, which focused on the royal pair's lives, romance, and struggles.
In the series, Meghan receives a text message from Beyoncé.
Elsa wonders why stars like her are not willing to align themselves with the couple publicly anymore.
She suggests that as a consequence of their take-no-prisoners PR warfare of their Oprah interview, Netflix series, and spare, they've simply become too divisive and polarizing.
Since moving to the US in early 2020, Harry and Meghan have received the unwavering support of actor and producer Tyler Perry.
The Hollywood A-lister provided them with a home and security during their first weeks in California and was chosen by the pair to be the godfather to their second child.
Mr. Perry even appeared in Meghan and Harry's biographical docuseries, alongside another famous friend of the couple, Abigail Spencer, former co-star of the Duchess.
Most recently, the Sussexes were spotted among A-listers at the wedding vow renewal ceremony of Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi.
However, this high-profile invite comes alongside a number of programs on US television mocking the Duke and Duchess.
While Harry's book has been a success for the publishing world, selling 3.2 million copies worldwide in the first week, some of the episodes detailed by the Duke in it have been ridiculed.
The Jimmy Kimmel show featured a sketch in January making fun of the alleged altercation between Harry and William, recounted by the Duke in his book, with two actors dressed up as the singer Prince, while physically attacking each other.
