Harry and Meghan Markle Stick Their Tongues Out at the Royal Family Before Coronation

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan Markle, have been seen in public together again, this time at a basketball game in Los Angeles.

The couple appeared on the big screen above the court, laughing and pulling faces, and even leaned in for a kiss before laughing it off.

This comes as a surprise to many, as the couple has often spoken out about their desire for privacy.

Harry and Meghan have previously claimed that their move to the US was to escape the public scrutiny that many royals face within the UK.

However, they have since gone on to release documentaries, books, and podcasts.

Many have questioned why they would be on TV after their many rows about privacy.

Responding to the clip of the pair at the NBA match, some people have taken to social media to express their opinions.

One person wrote, “clearly staying out of the spotlight as requested,” while another sarcastically added, “no stop, they don't want to be noticed or in the public eye.”

A third shared a screenshot from a South Park episode that mocked the couple for their many privacy claims.

A fourth person added, “how much do you think they paid to be splashed on the big Lakers screen?

I don't believe for a second this was a ‘hey look who showed up' moment.

It had to be paid for, part of their PR campaign to regain US popularity or to try to make it look like they're still oh so popular that everyone can't wait for them to show up at an event.

And isn't it spectacular?

Let's put them on the big screen.”

Someone on Twitter who was at the game commented that it was awkward because there was lots of booing, like an embarrassing amount.

Harry would have hated it.

That explains the thunderous face.

Royal biographer Angela Levin claims the couple's behaviour may just be a show before the Duke heads off to Britain.

Speaking to The Sun, she said, “they're trying to show that they're so happy and in love with their giggling, just like a pair of teenagers.

It looks incredibly phony, it looks like they're playing up in public after all of the begging for privacy that they did before.

It's over the top like they're playing a silly game.

They're trying to show that they're having a wonderful time in the US before Harry heads to dreary England.

He's smiling ear to ear in Los Angeles, but I don't think he'll be doing much smiling when he's back with his family.”

It comes just days after they made the stunning announcement that Harry would attend the King's coronation without Meghan.

Miss Levin added, “it seems quite staged to show that they're happy.

With their appearances and their behaviour, they're sticking their tongues out at the Royal family.

They're not following rules and protocol that would have been expected of them when they were in the Royal family.

Meghan's not a working royal, and she can dress however she likes.

But I think in this case, she's doing it to prove that she's not one of them and separate herself from the firm.”

The couple is rarely seen in public outside of scheduled appearances but has been spotted a couple of times.

In February last year, Harry was seen at the Superbowl alongside his cousin Princess Eugene.
