Harry and Meghan Markle’s Demands for King Charles’ Coronation
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan Markle, have been making headlines yet again.
This time, it's about their demands for King Charles' coronation.
While they seem to know exactly what they want, some are warning that giving in to all their demands could turn an orderly coronation into chaos.
It's been suggested that the couple's demands may be a way to get payback for their eviction from Frogmore Cottage.
Regardless of the reason behind their demands, it's clear that Harry and Meghan want to get what they want during the coronation.
One of the things that Meghan seems to be worried about is what to wear.
Trending:
There were rumours going around that no designer wants to give her coronation attire.
Lady Colin Campbell said that Meghan has fallen out of favour with some of the top-line courtiers.
She added that Meghan would have been someone who the designers wanted to work with because she's a good-looking woman and she's high-profile.
However, Lady C said, “Not so much anymore, at least not the top of the line courtiers.”
A stylist claimed that not working with a wardrobe expert consistently has been behind some of Meghan's red carpet misses.
Markle has had a number of fashion faux pas in her time as a royal.
These include leaving tags on dresses while on royal tours and leaving the seamstresses stitch in the back of a coat while on a trip to Birmingham.
Halle Abrams, a stylist herself and founder of the Wardrobe Consultant, has said that these misses are down to the fact that Markle hasn't worked consistently with a stylist.
One example of a look the stylist thought amiss was the red dress Meghan wore to the Salute to Freedom gala.
The crimson Carolina Herrera gown, the same brand behind Meghan's inappropriate dress for the Queen's birthday celebration, had a deep neckline and voluminous skirt.
Halle says the better the relationship with the stylist, the better the client's end result will be.
Catherine the Princess of Wales on the other hand, has worked with the same stylist for 16 years.
Meghan is reported to have worked with a number of stylists and to often style herself.
Her friend and makeup artist Daniel Martin, who famously did Meghan's makeup for a wedding, told CBS' Gayle King she does her own styling.
He said in 2019, “she doesn't have a stylist, everything she wears she picks herself, it's pretty incredible that she can manage all of this.”
However, she's worked with numerous stylists since.
According to reports, Meghan worked with Maria Means Coat, former PR and celebrity relations manager for Prada, to put together a look for a farewell UK tour.
For a Time 100 cover in 2021, she was styled by Nina Hallworth.
It's clear that Meghan's fashion choices have been under scrutiny, but what about Harry's demands for the coronation?
It seems that the couple doesn't care that the spotlight should shine only on Charles.
As a result, some warn that giving in to all of Harry and Meghan's demands could turn an orderly coronation into chaos.
While it's unclear what exactly the couple is demanding, it's clear that they want to have a say in how things are done.
Some speculate that this is simply a power play, while others believe that Harry and Meghan genuinely want to make a positive impact.
Regardless of their intentions, it's important to remember that the coronation is an important event that should be handled with care.
