Harry and Meghan Markle’s Royal Exit: Are They Being Forced Out?
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan, are reportedly concerned that they're being forced out of the royal family.
This comes after their names were relegated to the second and third lowest spots on the palace website, just above Prince Andrew.
According to royal biographer Phil Dampier, King Charles is likely to make it clear to them that they're not working royals and cannot have a semi-official role.
The royal family website features a list of significant adult royals, each with their own about section.
Until recently, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had featured around the middle of the rankings, below senior members.
However, when the website was reworked following the death of the Queen, they were relegated to lower spots.

They're now below, for example, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke of Kent, and Princess Alexandra.
Experts say that Harry and Meghan must be worried that they're slowly being eased out of the royal picture.
“The King will want to make it clear that they're not working royals and can't pose as semi-official royals,” Mr Dampier said.
“They're relegated to the bottom of the league table with disgraced Prince Andrew, and at the moment, there is no way of them climbing up.”
The Sussexes had once been just below William and Kate on the royal family list when residing in the UK.
But they were soon placed down below the Wessexes and Princess Anne after their decision to move to the United States.
This latest development has caused speculation that they're being forced out of the royal family.
Meanwhile, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have received fresh backlash for their alleged hypocritical behavior.
The couple has been accused of wanting their cake and eating it too, ever since they stepped back from their senior royal roles in 2020.
Prince Harry is currently waging a battle against the British government over security he lost when he stepped down from his role.
However, experts say that this legal move by the Sussexes shows that they're being hypocritical.
“They want to be financially independent of the crown but still want the perks that come with an HRH title,” said an expert.
Prince Harry has a penchant for wanting his cake and eating it too.
He would like royal protection, access, and attendance at royal family events so that he can tattletale.
Yet at the same time, he wants his privacy, all while hiring three PR firms.
For example, he wanted to wear his military uniform at his beloved grandmother's funeral but doesn't want to work as a royal.
He wanted the rules broken to wear a beard back at his wedding, despite army policy regarding beards restricting them only to be grown with the commanding officer's authority.
Another royal expert, Shannon Felton-Spence, said that Harry and Meghan's behavior is akin to quitting your job and expecting the company to still pay for your benefits.
“It's not such a bad thing for Harry to want to find another way of life, for the fifth in line for the throne.
The monarchy's survival depends on a more streamlined royal family.
If he found a way to truly exit life as a working royal and be financially independent without hurting the institution, that would be a huge win.
It would actually benefit Charlotte and Louis in the future by providing a roadmap for what's possible once you're too far down the line of succession.
But that's not what they wanted.
They wanted all the freedom and the perks, and that's not the job, so it's now more of a mess than ever.”
There is blame to be shared for how it's ended up.
It was also in the institution's best interest to find the independent path forward for them and to lay the groundwork for the future generations.
But emotions took over, and now everything is underlined with bitterness.
