Harry Meets Dutch King at Invictus Games

met with King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands on the final day of the Invictus Games.

The event, which is being held in The Hague, features veterans and service personnel from around the world competing in various sports.

The Duke of Sussex, dressed in a dark blue suit and blue shirt, was seen giving a warm welcome to the Dutch head of state.

They shook hands and posed for a picture before heading inside the venue.

Accompanied by Mart de Kruif, chairman of the tournament, the two royals later watched a wheelchair basketball match between the Dutch and US teams.

However, the Dutch royals have reportedly given Harry and a massive snub.

Trending:

According to reports, the couple was not invited to stay at the palace or for dinner, which is unusual for the Dutch royals who are known for their hospitality.

King Willem-Alexander had travelled to London last month alongside his wife Queen Maxima and his mother, former queen Princess Beatrix, to attend the service of Thanksgiving for Prince Philip.

One online user praised King Willem-Alexander for paying his respects to Prince Philip, stating that he is “10 times the man Harry will ever be.”

This comment was made in reference to Harry's absence from the service, which was seen as a major snub to the royal family.

Journalist Angela Mollet also commented on the snub, saying that it is unusual for royals to not stay at each other's palaces.

She compared the couple's visit to Australia, where they lived at the governor-general's house, and dubbed recent treatment from the Dutch royals as a symbol of their diminished status.

Despite this, the focus of the Invictus Games should remain on the soldiers and armed forces personnel who are participating in the event.

Mollet hopes that attention will not shift to Harry and his personal life.

In addition, Harry's demands for the Home Office to provide him and his family with the same level of protection as when he was a working member of the royal family were ridiculed.

Royal commentator Hugo Vickers suggested that Harry could pay for private security with the earnings he and have made since quitting their royal jobs.

Vickers also pointed out that security is not the responsibility of the royal family, but rather Scotland Yard.

He stated that if Harry is making as much money as reported, he can afford to pay for his own security.

Furthermore, if he were with the royal family in London, they would all have protection.

Overall, the meeting between and King Willem-Alexander at the Invictus Games was a positive moment.

However, the snub from the Dutch royals and Harry's ongoing security demands show that the couple's departure from senior royal status continues to be a topic of discussion.
