Harry’s Late Show Interview with Stephen Colbert: Tequila, Tom Hanks, and Controversy

's recent interview with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Despite being a light-hearted departure from the relentless week of criticism surrounding Harry's tell-all book, Colbert poked fun at the 38-year-old royal several times during the interview.

The interview was taped in New York City on Monday night and aired on Tuesday.

Colbert's opening skit featured a backstage red carpet with two trumpet heralds, but when rounded the corner, Colbert revealed that the pomp and circumstance weren't for the Prince's benefit at all.

Colbert then offered Harry a glass of tequila, which the Prince happily accepted before diving into the controversial contents of his memoir.

However, some critics have accused Colbert of exploiting someone who's suffering from mental health problems by playing them with alcohol to promote a tallied book about his family.

Harry's failure to appear in person for his interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert also drew criticism from fans.

The fiery incident took place late Tuesday night when Colbert informed his live studio audience that the Duke of Sussex had filmed his interview one day earlier and would therefore not be making an appearance.

According to Colbert, Prince Harry chose to film his interview one day earlier because of security reasons.

The programme, which usually runs for two hours, then came to an end after only one hour, leaving a number of disgruntled audience members expressing their anger and disappointment over the unexpected change of plans.

During the interview, Harry admitted that in 2020 he was forced to leave, fled the country, and moved to California.

He basically admits they were never really going to Canada.

This seems incredibly irresponsible of Colbert to exploit someone who's suffering from mental health problems by playing them with alcohol to promote a tallied book about his family.

Harry has been very vocal about his mental illness and trauma since leaving the Royal family, stating that he's been struggling with it for such a substantial portion of his life.

He's also admitted to a drinking and drug problem.

This has led some critics to question whether Harry's drinking on the show was a responsible move.

Despite the controversy, some have defended Colbert's decision to offer Harry a drink, suggesting that he was just going along with a joke or comment Harry might have made about needing tequila shots at this point in his press tour.

Perhaps Colbert thought it would help Harry relax and show his true self.

In addition to that, Stephen Colbert has always tried to portray himself as different than the average celebrity, someone who's socially and politically conscious.

However, his decision to offer Harry a drink has sparked a debate about the role of celebrities in promoting mental health awareness.

Overall, Harry's interview with Stephen Colbert was revealing, but not necessarily in a positive way.

The controversy surrounding the interview has raised important questions about the responsibilities of celebrities when it comes to promoting mental health awareness.

It remains to be seen whether Harry and Colbert will address these concerns in the future.
