Kim Kardashian Honored at Baby to Baby Gala, Meghan Markle Absent Again
The 2022 Baby to Baby Gala was held in LA on Saturday night, and Hollywood's biggest names were in attendance to support the charity that provides resources to impoverished children around the world.
Among the attendees was Kim Kardashian, who received the Giving Tree Award for her decade-long support of the organization.
Before accepting the award, a montage was played featuring a number of famous faces expressing why Kim was deserving of the recognition.
Celebrities such as Chris Rock, Serena Williams, Katy Perry, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ryan Seacrest, Hillary Clinton, and even members of Kim's own family, including her mother Kris Jenner, three sisters, and daughter North, all spoke highly of her contributions to the charity.
Meghan Markle, however, was not present at the event, despite her close friendship with Tyler Perry, who presented Kim with the award.
This absence has led to speculation that Meghan is being shunned in Hollywood due to her alleged tendency to make events all about herself.
Trending:
Royal fans have been quick to criticize Meghan, with one Reddit user stating that “these are exactly the kind of events Meghan wants to be part of and the crowd she wants to be in.”
They suggest that Meghan was pushy and off-putting in her attempts to become involved with the charity, and that she made people uncomfortable with her desperate and wild-eyed approach.
Another user commented that Harry and Meghan have not followed through with their previous involvement with Baby to Baby, having only done the bare minimum and failing to engage with the charity beyond a single photo op.
They suggest that if the couple were to find a charity they truly cared about and committed themselves to it, they may be known for their charitable contributions.
Despite Meghan's absence, the event was a success, with attendees celebrating Kim's contributions to the charity and her dedication to helping impoverished children around the world.
In her acceptance speech, Kim spoke about what justice means to her, stating that “what's right is right no matter what.”
While Meghan's absence may have been notable, it is important to remember that the event was about celebrating the work of Baby to Baby and the contributions of those who support it.
Kim's award was well-deserved, and her dedication to the charity is to be commended.
Hopefully, this event will inspire others to get involved and make a difference in the lives of children in need.
