Lady Kitty Spencer’s Life Changes After Attending Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s Wedding

Lady Kitty Spencer, the niece of and cousin of , made headlines when she attended the royal wedding of and in May.

The model, who is the eldest daughter of Diana's brother, looked stunning in a green Dolce & Gabbana dress, which drew comparisons to her famous aunt's natural beauty and fashion sense.

However, the royal wedding had a surprising effect on Kitty's life, and she was completely shocked by it.

Speaking to Bazaar.com, Kitty explained how interest in her completely rocketed after the event.

Within a week, she had been made an ambassador for Bulgaria, and her life has been non-stop ever since.

Kitty's Instagram followers increased from 17,000 to half a million in one night, leaving her in disbelief.

She said, “I thought I had someone else's phone when I woke up the next morning.

I had to turn my notifications off because my phone was going to die.

Can I still FaceTime my cat and put it on my stories?”

Despite the sudden attention, Kitty is trying to stay true to herself and not change her figure to please anyone.

She said, “I guess I'm doing these things on my own terms.

I don't think it's my job to starve to fit into an outfit.

If a brand wants to work with me and think their designs look good on me, then they can give them to me in my size.”

Kitty also spoke up about feminism, which is a shared interest with the Duchess of Sussex.

She believes in advocating for women's rights on the basis of equality between the sexes.

Kitty said, “Focusing on women does not mean ignoring men.

I wholeheartedly believe in the advancement of women, and I am opposed to all forms of discrimination.

It's important that men and women engage with feminism and women's rights because, after all, nothing changes if nothing changes.”

She also called for more work to be done on women's rights, as the male-dominated systems of government and within most industries still prevail.

Women continue to earn less on average than men, and the number of women at CEO level is still small, in fact, that number is sadly falling.

Kitty believes that women's presence and influence in the public arena is still too limited.

Kitty's comments come weeks after the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan, took to the stage at an event to mark International Women's Day.

Meghan has been a long-time advocate for women's rights since she was just 11 years old, when she accused a washing-up liquid company's TV advert of being sexist, prompting them to change it.

In 2015, she became the United Nations Women's Advocate for Women's Political Participation and Leadership.

Lady Kitty was born in the UK but raised in South Africa.

The Spencers relocated to South Africa in 1995, when Earl Spencer divorced Kitty's mother, Victoria Aitken, who stayed behind in Cape Town while her father moved back to the UK.

She eventually moved to London and graduated with a Master in Luxury Brand Management from the European Business School of Regents University in London.

Despite her sudden rise to fame, Lady Kitty Spencer remains grounded and focused on advocating for women's rights.

Her attendance at Prince Harry and 's wedding may have opened doors for her, but her passion and dedication to making a difference is what will keep her in the spotlight.
