Lady Louise Windsor, the eldest child of Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, recently attended the British royal family's annual Easter church service at St George's Chapel, in Windsor.

The now 14-year-old has come a long way since she first captured our hearts with her sweet smile at Duchess Catherine and 's 2011 royal wedding.

The young royal was dressed to impress in a deep purple overcoat, teamed with a floral headpiece and n^de suede Mary Jane heels.

Lady Louise is growing up in front of our eyes and channelling her grandmother's panache for bright colours.

She was accompanied by her parents and little brother, James Viscount Severn.

Lady Louise was born on November 8, 2003, as the only daughter of Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, and Sophie, Countess of Wessex.

Unfortunately, her birth was complicated due to placental abruption, which caused severe blood loss to both Countess Sophie and Lady Louise.

As a result, Royal surgeon and gynaecologist Marcus Setchell performed an emergency caesarean section.

Growing up, Lady Louise faced issues with her vision, which lead to her parents' decision for her to have two surgeries.

The first surgery was at just 18 months old and was unsuccessful.

In 2014, she underwent a second operation, which was reported to be a success.

Countess Sophie shared that premature babies can often have squints because the eyes are the last thing in the baby package to really be finalised.

Lady Louise's ailment inspired the Countess of Weyex to become a Patron of the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness and a global ambassador for Vision 2020, a worldwide initiative to eliminate avoidable blindness by the year 2020.

When Sophie and Edward married in 1999, they decided they wanted their future children to lead a normal life, opting to drop HRH titles.

This is why Louise has the title Lady, and not Princess.

The granddaughter of II and Prince Philip is currently 12th in line of succession for British throne.

One of the most charming facts about Lady Louise is the fact that she didn't realize she was royalty.

Her mother sat down for a chat with the BBC, recounting the hilarious moment her daughter figured out her grandmother and the queen were the same person.

Lady Louise shares her grandparent's love of equestrian sport carriage driving.

Last year, she competed in the British Driving Society Championship for Young Driver.

Prince Philip is exceptionally proud of his granddaughter, given his passion for the sport, which he took up when he was 50.

Sophie and Edward's desire for their children to lead a normal life is evident.

Sophie has said that they're going to have to go out and get a job and earn a living later on in life.

If they've had as normal a start in life they possibly can get, then hopefully that will stand them in good stead.

Lady Louise's presence at the Easter church service was a reminder of how fast time flies.

We've watched her grow up in front of our eyes and we can't wait to see what the future holds for this young royal.
