Meghan Markle Allowed to Wear Royal Collection Jewels

In a recent report by The Sun, it was claimed that the Queen had banned from wearing some of her most prized gems.

However, senior royal sources have told Vanity Fair that the Duchess of Sussex will be allowed to wear jewels from the Royal Collection.

The report also claimed that 's heirlooms have caused tensions between and , so the Queen has intervened to keep Meghan away from the jewels because is more senior than Meghan in the royal hierarchy.

The Queen Mary diamond bandeau from the collection was worn by Meghan on her wedding day.

The Duchess has also worn several pieces of 's jewellery, including a pair of butterfly earrings and a gold bracelet.

Two diamonds once owned by the late Princess also form part of Meghan's engagement ring.

According to members of the Queen's entourage, there is a pecking order when it comes to the royal jewels which are under the charge of the Queen's dresser Angela Kelly.

Angela hands the jewels out, but ultimately they are in the gift of the Queen.

A courtier explained, “But family friend has dismissed the suggestion that the Queen has banned Meghan.

I find it very unlikely, the source said.

It's not the kind of thing the Queen would do.

She is very generous when it comes to lending jewels to her family.”

As reported in January, the Queen has already opened up the royal collection to Meghan and Harry allowing them to choose several pieces of artwork for their new home.

Daily Mail recently reported that advised Meghan not to wear a tiara from the collection for a state visit in Fiji in October because the ornate headpiece might be considered too ostentatious.

As a result, Meghan attended the state dinner without a tiara.

That same night, Kate attended a state dinner in London where she was photographed wearing what is reportedly her favourite tiara, the lover's knot, which belonged to Diana.

In other news, the last few days have not been in favour of and .

Royal commentator Daniela Elza said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have taken hit after hit over the last 12 days or so, adding, things are not exactly looking that rosy over Montecito way.

Harry and Meghan made the headlines with their appearance at the United Nations headquarters in New York but seemingly failed to impress people.

Harry's gesture and address at UN also remained talks of the town.

The Duke sparked reactions with his criticism on the US Supreme Court's decision to overturn its landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade.

Shortly afterwards, Royal author Tom Bower released his book, Revenge, Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors.

The Royal expert described the book as being a largely unrelenting, highly unflattering take on the Sussexes.

Then came the court battle between Meghan and her estranged half-sister, Samantha Markle, who accused Meghan of allegedly telling false and malicious lies during her interview last year.

The Duchess of Sussex has denied the claims.

Royal commentator Elza also noted that Harry and Meghan may have been left with a hefty bill as a result of Prince Harry's legal battle with the Home Office over his security arrangements.

All events that occurred in the last few days apparently failed to please Harry and Meghan but somehow added to their worries.

Despite the negative press, the Duchess of Sussex will continue wearing jewels from the Royal Collection, and the Queen is known for being generous when it comes to lending jewels to her family.
