Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Told to Live More Modestly After Losing Netflix Deal
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been advised to find a more affordable home after losing their deal with Netflix.
The Duke of Sussex had previously claimed that he was cut off by the Royal Family and had to sign deals to afford security.
However, following the cancellation of Meghan's animated show, Pearl, as part of Netflix's strategic decisions around animated series, the couple's future source of income is in question.
Royal expert Richard Eden questioned the couple's finances after they purchased an £11m house in Montecito, California.
Speaking to Palace Confidential on Mail Plus, Mr Eden said, “Remember that Prince Harry said explicitly in his interview with Oprah Winfrey that they only signed the deals with Spotify and Netflix because he has been cut off by his family.
He was saying we need the money.

Since then they've got some other deals for things like Better Up but he made clear they needed to do that sort of deal.
It does make me wonder about what the future holds.”
Royal commentator Andrew Pearce suggested that the couple could live somewhere more modest, rather than in a house with nine bathrooms.
In his interview with Oprah, Harry had revealed that the Netflix deal was suggested by someone else when his family cut him off financially, and he had to pay for security.
Although he has what his mother left him, without it, he said they would not have been able to buy their current house.
The news that Pearl has been cancelled comes after it emerged that Netflix lost 200,000 users over the first three months of 2022, falling well short of its predictions to add 2.5 million subscribers.
It is understood that Netflix has decided not to move forward with development on several projects, one of which is Pearl.
In other news, Margaret Thatcher's former aide, Niall Gardner, accused Meghan Markle of doing all she can to undermine the Queen.
Gardner, who served as a foreign policy researcher for the Iron Lady from 2000 to 2002, shared his thoughts on Harry's recent television interview and savaged the couple in the process.
According to Express UK, he said, “the stunning decline of Prince Harry.
Hubris, delusion, and the incredibly destructive influence of immensely self-centred Meghan Markle, who has done all she can to undermine the Queen, the royal family and Great Britain.
Sad to see.”
Despite the criticism, Prince Harry recently visited the Queen to ensure that she was protected and had the right people around her.
However, with their future source of income in question, it remains to be seen what the couple will do next.
It is important to note that the loss of the Netflix deal does not necessarily mean the end of the couple's careers in entertainment.
They have also signed deals with Spotify and Better Up, and may explore other opportunities in the future.
