Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s UK Visit Shunted Down the Priority List

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, are set to make a surprise visit to the UK in September.

The couple will be visiting Manchester and London to work with charities close to their hearts, marking their first UK visit since they returned for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.

However, according to a royal commentator, their visit will not take priority over a busy royal schedule, and they may face an awkward situation with the Queen.

Daniela Elser, the royal writer for Australian website News.com.au, noted that the Queen in particular may be too busy for a reunion with the couple.

When Meghan and Harry arrive in Manchester on September 5 for the opening ceremony of the One Young World Summit, the Conservative Party will be holding their leadership vote to choose the country's next prime minister.

The next day Boris Johnson will formally resign and return the keys to 10 Downing Street.

As Ms. Elser pointed out, the palace has already confirmed that the sovereign will interrupt her summer holiday in Balmoral to return to London for the change in leadership and as is usual will meet with not only the new PM but outgoing Johnson as well.

This means that Meghan and Harry's visit will be shunted down the ladder of priority, and it's unknown whether the Sussexes plan to meet with members of the royal family during their return.

The couple's spokesperson did not mention if Meghan and Harry would be accompanied by their children, Archie and Lilibet, but it is known that they will also be hot-footing over to Dusseldorf in Germany after landing in the UK.

They will then travel back to London for the Well Child Awards on September 8.

According to Richard Eden, a Daily Mail columnist, the couple's visit is likely to be low-key, and they won't create a fanfare.

He added that they want to have all the focus on the charities, which is probably why we won't get them back with the Fab Four, William and Kate, and their families.

Speaking on the couple's visit for the Platinum Jubilee, he said, “I think there was a lot said about their involvement in the Platinum Jubilee.

People were very, very worried about whether their, sort of, coming to the UK would overshadow the Queen's big celebration.

So, maybe they'll be keeping a low profile over this side of the pond because they don't tend to do that when they're over in the States.”

The planned visit is significant as Meghan had not been seen publicly with other royals since the couple's dramatic exit from the firm two years ago.

Their return was highly anticipated, and it remains to be seen if they will meet with any members of the royal family during their visit.

In spite of this, the couple is delighted to be returning to Prince Harry's home country, and they are excited to work with the charities close to their hearts.
