Meghan Markle Denies Knowing Half-Brother Who Asked for Help
Meghan Markle's half-brother, Tom Markle Jr., has claimed that his sister denied knowing him when he reached out to her for help.
The 51-year-old admits that they haven't been in touch since Meghan moved to Toronto in 2011 to take up her role in Suits, but insists that they were close growing up.
In a heartfelt letter congratulating her on her engagement to Prince Harry, Tom apologized if his personal life had caused her any embarrassment and asked for her assistance in dealing with the press.
However, Meghan never responded to the note, and when Tom attempted to reach her by contacting the palace of her soon-to-be-in-laws, he learned that she wanted nothing to do with him.
Meghan's half-brother believes that news of his recent brushes with the law may have embarrassed her, leading to her avoidance of him.
Tom was thrown in jail for two days last year after a drunken brawl with his fiancée, and he was also arrested for brandishing a gun at her during another drunken incident.

Although the charges were later dropped, Tom blamed his behavior on struggling to cope with the extra pressure and scrutiny he and the rest of his family have faced since Meghan's royal engagement.
In his letter to Meghan, Tom expressed his desire to start over and move to the country to start an animal rescue farm.
He also claimed that he's been forced to move three times since Meghan and Harry announced their engagement in November, and he's lost a lot of work because he's allegedly being hounded by the press.
He wanted the Royal Palace to help him seek retractions for stories he feels are defamatory and damaging, but he could not afford their recommended legal representation after moving house so many times.
Tom Markle's own lawyer had previously warned him in October that there would be no improvement with the media unless he talked to his sister.
Although he hasn't seen or spoken to Meghan since 2011, Tom insists that they are not estranged and revealed that he would be honored if she would invite him to her wedding in May.
He is still hoping that the Markle clan will one day be reunited for Christmas and says that while he doesn't expect an invitation to the wedding, it would mean a lot to get one.
Tom Markle's comments echo those made by his estranged sister Samantha Grant, who also spoke of a large family who were always there with Meghan.
Samantha previously criticized her famous half-sister for allegedly not supporting their dad and spending $75,000 on a dress instead.
Meghan's half-siblings have been known to speak out against her in the press, and it appears that Meghan has distanced herself from them.
Meghan Markle has been in the public eye since her engagement to Prince Harry was announced, and her family's behavior has been heavily scrutinized.
While Meghan may have had a close relationship with her half-siblings growing up, it seems that she has chosen to distance herself from them in recent years.
The pressure and scrutiny of being in the public eye can be difficult for anyone, and it appears that Meghan is doing her best to navigate this new chapter in her life.
