Meghan Markle Faces Fashion Snub After Kate’s $30 Dress Knocks Her Out
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is reportedly facing a huge slap from top fashion designers after falling out of favor with some of the top-line couturiers.
Lady Colin Campbell, a royal biographer and commentator, claims that Meghan is no longer the flavor of the month when it comes to fashion.
She added that designers would have wanted to dress Meghan in the past because she is a good-looking woman and high-profile, but not so much anymore, at least not the top-of-the-line couturiers.
Despite Lady Colin's claims, Meghan wore nearly £67,000 worth of designer clothes and jewelry during her three-day trip to New York last month.
From Cartier watches to £3,200 coats and a £3,288 white Valentino dress, the Duchess of Sussex racked up a very pricey designer wardrobe estimated to retail for around £66,879 for her visit, where she primarily donned unseasonably warm ensembles in 76F New York weather.
For the solemnity of her World Trade Center memorial visit, Meghan wore a black polo, heavy black wool £1,368 Emporio Armani coat with matching £649 black trousers and £449 Aquassura heels.

Later that day, the Royal changed into a £3,199 Max Mara camel coat for her visit to the United Nations headquarters, carrying a £2,499 Valextra i-side bag, and a little black dress to meet Chelsea Clinton and others at the World Health Organization.
Donning a business-ready look, she sported a pencil skirt from her designer friend Roland Mouret, priced at £410, with a turtleneck and protected her eyes from the sun in Valentino sunglasses which retail at £135.
It means that Meghan's wardrobe came in at an estimated £8,709 in total just for day one of the trip.
Before becoming Prince Harry's wife and being thrust into the public eye on an international scale, Meghan's style was very different from the expensive wardrobe she enjoys now.
Meanwhile, Meghan's sister-in-law the Duchess of Cambridge is also known to enjoy wearing designer pieces mixed with high street finds.
Lady Colin added, “Of course, designers, they are going to fall over themselves to dress the Duchess of Cambridge.
She's a good-looking woman, she wears clothes beautifully.
She has a great figure and the clothes fit perfectly.
That's the secret.”
In other news, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are using their royal brand to earn US dollars, according to royal expert Duncan Larcombe.
He told Closer magazine how the Sussexes are capitalizing on the monarchy, adding, “You're taking one of the most established brands and you're lining your pockets in the US with it.
It's sad because he was so loved and the royal family work together and support each other.
He is making a difference to people's lives, but he was before he left.”
Prince Harry and Meghan left the UK in 2020, announcing their decision to step away from their duties as senior royals and took their son Archie to permanently move to the US.
The couple recently welcomed their daughter Lilibet, who they named after Her Majesty the Queen.
It remains to be seen whether Meghan will continue to face a fashion snub from top designers or if she will regain her status as a fashion icon.
However, one thing is clear – the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are determined to carve out their own path and make their mark in the world, with or without the support of the fashion industry.
