Meghan Markle Gives Birth to Baby Girl at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital

The world was overjoyed to hear the news that , Duchess of Sussex, gave birth to a baby girl on Friday, June 4th, at 11:40 am.

The child's name is Lily Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, and she weighed 7lbs 11oz.

The birth took place at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, which is located in downtown Santa Barbara, California.

This hospital is a not-for-profit foundation that was established in 1888 by a group of 50 women, and it oversees 2,400 births per year.

The hospital is proud of its all-female founders, which is likely to resonate with the Duchess of Sussex due to her interest in female empowerment.

It is also one of the closest hospitals to Meghan and Harry's £11 million mansion in nearby Montecito, which is approximately 10 minutes away by car.

The cost of a natural birth at this hospital is £10,000, while a caesarean section is £20,000.

According to a local source, pop star Katy Perry, who is a neighbor to Meghan and Harry in Montecito, also had her baby Daisy there last August.

The prince recently revealed that he is friends with Miss Perry's film star husband Orlando Bloom, so it's possible that he and Meghan chose the hospital based on their personal recommendation.

The hospital, built in the Spanish colonial style, boasts a feeling more like a home than a hospital.

Every room has Wi-Fi, a video monitor, and a computer keyboard.

There is a menu for food orders and room service, as well as a pantry so women in labor and loved ones can help themselves to snacks at any time they wish.

As well as a bed with lots of pillows to help keep the mother comfortable, each birthing room also has a recliner, a rocking chair, and a sofa.

These would help the anxious father or other birthing partner, so Harry would have been able to make himself comfortable too.

There are also outside terraces to walk off labor pains and hot tubs for hydrotherapy.

Meghan and Harry's son , who is two years old, was born at the private Portland Hospital in central London.

The couple has always refused to confirm this, but it is listed on his birth certificate.

With the Sussexes living in California, it is not known when or if will meet the monarch and the other royals.

However, the Duke and Duchess may have given their daughter her names in an effort to build bridges with the royal family after the couple made a series of bombshell allegations against the firm.

Lily is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty the Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet.

Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late-grandmother, the Princess of Wales.

This is the second child for the couple, who also have a two-year-old son named Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

The Duke and Duchess thank you for your warm wishes and prayers as they enjoy this special time as a family.
