Meghan Markle to Speak at Exclusive Event in Indianapolis
Meghan Markle, the former Duchess of Sussex, is set to make an appearance at an exclusive event called The Power of Women on November 29th.
The event will take place at the Marriott Downtown Hotel in Indianapolis, Indiana.
However, photography and recording will be banned, and the event is closed to the media.
Guests are required to confirm that they are not reporters to attend, and tickets cost a whopping $5,000 per table.
Although it's unclear how much Meghan will be paid for her appearance, PR experts predict that she could earn up to $1 million per speech.
However, there are reports that rooms are still available at the Downtown Marriott, leading royal fans to assume that Meghan has hired seat fillers.
Trending:
One user wrote, “I can't imagine how a thin-skinned, fragile ego is going to handle a quarter-filled auditorium in the Midwest and no A-listers dying to be elevated by a smirkle's wisdom and profound salad tossing skills.
The name should be changed to, An Evening You'll Never Get Back.”
Another user commented, “Do you think she's hired seat fillers?
I can't imagine her letting herself show up to an empty Marriott banquet room.
I'm sure her ego is telling her it's going to be filled or she's made an agreement with the organization that they have to have a certain number of seats filled or they have to pay her $1 million in damages or something.
I'm serious.
I bet you there's a minimum seat clause so once they finish ticket sales, if they don't meet the required number, they have to recruit seat fillers from their organization for free or even worse, pay them to attend.
Wonder if the press will sneak in?
Sure hope so.”
Earlier this month, it was reported that Meghan was in line to take home a prize at the 2022 GQ Men of the Year Awards in London.
However, the event was held on November 16th at the Tate Modern, and Meghan did not attend.
Several reports said that Meghan would receive an honorary award in recognition of her charity work.
Fans and media alike mocked Meghan online for the no-show, with one user writing, “How embarrassing,” and another saying, “Remember the Academy Awards they were presenting?
The Emmy they were going to win for the Oprah Winfrey interview.”
In recent news, Harry and Meghan reportedly want to launch their own space in the virtual world to expand their following.
According to the Daily Mail, the couple is talking to a VIP tech firm called Pax World to develop the world's first land sale in the metaverse.
The Duchess is said to be the driving force behind this new business plan.
A source told the Mail that both Meghan and Harry believe they will have an even greater ability to spread their message if they have a presence in the virtual world as well as the physical world.
They've spoken to a variety of experts, and the view is that this is the next stage to take their brand truly global.
If Meghan and Harry do go virtual, they'll join a growing number of celebrities who are branching out their empires like Justin Bieber, Snoop Dogg, and Paris Hilton.
They could appear as avatars in a variety of settings such as gaming, business meetings, and online communities.
The question remains: Will they be better liked in the virtual world?
Only time will tell.
