Meghan Markle’s Best Friend Goes Silent on Social Media Despite Appearance in New Netflix Documentary

Jessica Mulroney, who was once one of 's closest friends, has gone silent on social media as the Duchess of Sussex's new Netflix documentary dropped.

In the series, an intimate phone call between the two women is featured.

Jessica, a prolific social media user with 412,000 followers on Instagram, hasn't posted anything on her feed.

She also hasn't appeared on her stories since the first episode of the Harcourts TV special aired.

In the second episode of the show, Meghan hands over footage from the night she and got engaged in 2017 to Netflix producers.

Just moments before popped the question in the walled garden of Kensington Palace, Meghan appears to be on a video call with someone named Jessica.

Trending:

As she approaches the set, Meghan says, “Oh my God Jess, it's happening.

He told me not to peek.”

It is thought that Jess refers to celebrity stylist Jessica Mulroney, who was one of Meghan's closest pals prior to the potential rift between the pair following Jessica's comments about white privilege.

The footage then jumps to a never-before-seen clip of the romantic proposal of Prince Harry down on one knee and surrounded by 15 electric candles.

While Prince Harry kneels on a blanket, Meghan's dog Gus is seen sitting next to him and a large bouquet of white roses.

Meghan revealed she had an inkling that the proposal would happen that evening when her husband went to chill a bottle of champagne as she roasted a chicken in the kitchen of their former Nottingham cottage home.

It's worth noting that during their engagement interview, Meghan and Harry said the proposal was a total surprise.

However, Meghan is on the phone with Jess Mulroney saying, “it's happening,” as she walks outside filming the entire engagement.

This has led some to question the authenticity of the proposal, with some calling it a “set-up” or a “plan.”

According to Exposing SMG, Corey Vitiello, the owner of trendy Toronto eatery The Harbour Room, opened doors to a higher class of society for Meghan.

This social circle included the son of a former Canadian Prime Minister and the global membership director of the elite private club Soho House, Marcus Anderson.

This relationship provided Meghan with the means to make the jump from an actress to a socialite.

Crazy enough, this is how Meghan met her now best friend Jessica Mulroney.

Jessica is married to Ben Mulroney, who's the son of the former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney.

She also happens to come from a wealthy family and is an heiress to a famous Canadian shoe line called Brown Shoes Inc.

In short, she's a very rich socialite.

She's also a fashion designer who's designed outfits for the Canadian Prime Minister's wife Sophie Trudeau.

Rumours of a fallout between the two women have continued to swirl as Jessica has not yet appeared in the Netflix docuseries, despite reportedly playing an influential role in Megxit.

It appeared as though they became distant in 2020 when the style guru was called out by lifestyle blogger Sasha Exeter for comments she made regarding white privilege, while the pair had a conversation about the Black Lives Matter movement.

Although Jessica denied being a racist, Sasha claimed the stylist left her paralysed with fear.

Following the blogger's claims, Jessica issued three public apologies.

However, she still faced consequences and was dropped by numerous television networks.

As the backlash against Jessica built up, Meghan remained quiet and distant on the matter.

It's unclear whether the silence between the two women is due to the fallout over Jessica's comments or if there is another reason for the distance.
