Meghan Markle’s Children’s Book “The Bench” Fails to Impress Critics and Readers

, the Duchess of Sussex, has released her new children's book called “The Bench.”

The book was inspired by her husband, , and their son, .

It all started with a poem that Meghan wrote for Harry on Father's Day.

However, the book has failed to make it to Amazon's top 200 bestsellers, reaching only the 204th spot on the charts and 60th on the list of bestselling children's books.

Critics have widely criticized the book, with one calling it “semi-literate.”

Claire Alfre, a critic from The Telegraph, wrote, “One wonders how any publisher could have thought fit to publish this grammar-defying set of badly rhyming cod homilies, let alone think any child anywhere would want to read it.”

She added that the book portrays Harry as someone's son sitting on a bench while Meghan gets on and conquers the world.

Alex Connell from The Times described the book as a self-help manual for needy parents, adding, “The story is so lacking in action and jeopardy you half wonder if the writing job was delegated to a piece of furniture.”

Meghan's book was also widely panned by critics on Amazon, with many giving it a one-star review.

One person said, “We didn't enjoy this book at all.

I have no idea why the author thought this story would appeal to children.

It's incredibly boring and uninspiring.”

The book's grammar was also questioned at times, making it even more unappealing to readers.

Many people believe that this book would have been better as a private project kept within the family that they can read themselves and treasure in the future.

For anyone else, it's just completely irrelevant.

This comes weeks after the Duchess of Cambridge, , released her photograph contest book, “Hold Still.”

Unlike Meghan's book, Kate's book soared to the top of the bestseller list on the day of its release and became the second highest selling book out of all titles on Amazon.
