Meghan Markle’s Father Never Ignored Her, Court Hears

In a recent court hearing, it was revealed that Thomas Markle Sr. did not ignore his daughter Meghan Markle, despite claims made by her friends to People magazine in 2019.

The allegations against him were denied in court, with evidence showing that he had been in contact with both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle about his health condition before the royal wedding.

The court heard that Thomas Markle Sr. had undergone heart surgery prior to the wedding and informed the couple that he could not travel for the wedding per his doctor's advice.

However, he expressed his willingness to attend if they really needed him.

He even texted his daughter, “I can't wait to walk you down the aisle,” before he was hospitalized.

The portrayal of Thomas Markle Sr. as someone who heartlessly ignored his daughter was deemed “pretty extreme” by legal counsel.

In fact, the court heard that he had sent several affectionate texts to his daughter leading up to the wedding, including one in which he asked who would replace him as the one to give her away.

Despite this evidence, Meghan Markle's former head of communications, Jason Knauf, revealed in court that she had written a letter to her father knowing it could be leaked and aimed to pull at the heartstrings should this occur.

She had toiled over every detail, which could be manipulated, and even discussed how to address her father in the letter, writing, “it may make sense to open as such despite him being less than paternal.”

In texts read out in court, Meghan Markle wrote, “obviously everything I've drafted is with the understanding that it could be leaked, so I have been meticulous in my word choice.”

She also said that if her father leaked the letter, “at least the world will know the truth.

Words I could never voice publicly.”

The court heard that Meghan Markle had lost confidence that the privacy of her communication with her father would be respected by him as a result of his increasing cooperation with reporters and photographers.

This led to her writing the letter in question.

The legal counsel argued that the texts from Thomas Markle Sr. were critical to understanding the father and daughter's relationship at the time and that they had been ignored in the judge's summary, which handed victory to Meghan Markle in the privacy case in February.

The QC said the ruling had been one-sided, and the texts were important to establish the father and daughter's relationship at the time.

Prince Harry also allegedly sent Thomas Markle Sr. an upsetting text message, which was not read out in court.

The said message reportedly left Thomas Sr. upset, especially because he was alone in the hospital having just had a heart procedure when he read it.

Despite the claims made by Meghan Markle's friends to People magazine, it is now clear that Thomas Markle Sr. did not ignore his daughter leading up to her wedding.
