Meghan Markle’s Handler Demands Private Table at Michelin-Starred Restaurant in 2017
According to a new book, Meghan Markle's handler demanded a private table at New York City's Michelin-starred Le Cucou in 2017, while the star-turned-royal stood by silently.
Former maitre d' Michael Secchiarzolina, who worked at the restaurant for two and a half years, claims that Markle required a table because she was dating a prince.
Markle and her handler arrived at the restaurant 20 minutes early for their reservation and were subsequently aggressive with staff.
Secchiarzolina recalls the handler asking, “Are you aware my guest is dating Prince Harry and about to be a duchess?
Don't you have a private area for us to wait?”
However, the maitre d' refused to give them a private table, stating, “I still don't have a private table for you.”

During the encounter, Markle reportedly remained silent and aloof.
Secchiarzolina describes her as being unapproachable and not saying a word.
He adds that the restaurant regularly hosts powerful people from around the world, and no one really cares about her.
The book also recounts other encounters with celebrities, including Vogue editor Anna Wintour and supermodel Naomi Campbell, both of whom allegedly appeared unannounced and repeatedly sent food back at Raoul's Soho.
According to Secchiarzolina, Campbell would come to the restaurant and complain about her food almost every time.
She was described as being rude and demanding a lot of attention.
Wintour was similar, marching in with no reservation and demanding a table.
She would order a steak very rare and request it be served immediately.
If it was even slightly overcooked, she would send it back.
Twitter users have criticized Markle's behavior, with one commenting that reports of her rudeness, arrogance, and aggressiveness have all been remarkably consistent.
Another user stated that talking to the little people is beneath her.
However, some have defended Markle, stating that the criticism is unfair and that she is simply adjusting to life in the public eye.
Overall, the book provides an interesting insight into the behavior of celebrities when dining out.
It shows that even those with fame and fortune can be difficult customers and highlights the challenges faced by those who work in the service industry.
Despite the negative portrayal of Markle, it is important to remember that everyone has bad days and that we should not judge people based on isolated incidents.
