Meghan Markle’s Podcast Promo Sparks Controversy
American radio personality Tom Likas has expressed his objection to the use of his voice in the teaser of Meghan Markle's Spotify podcast.
Likas took to Twitter and tagged Spotify, questioning who gave them permission to use his voice in the promo.
This came after Beatrice Cardenas, a Republican Party member who ran for election to the U.S. House in 2020, claimed that Meghan Markle would be sued for using a clip of Likas in her intro.
Cardenas stated that Likas could sue Meghan Markle faster than she could cash her Spotify check for any defamation.
She made these comments while criticizing Spotify's introduction of Meghan Markle's podcast archetype.
Meanwhile, royal commentator Neil Sean has claimed that Prince Harry may soon launch his own series following in his wife's footsteps.
Trending:
Neil suggested that Harry's podcast would focus on mental health, self-care, and how to survive in a difficult world.
Since leaving the royal family, Prince Harry has already been involved in roles related to these themes.
He became a chief impact officer with Startup Better Up and gave talks on mental well-being in the workplace.
According to Neil, Harry might tackle these topics through interviews on his new podcast, which he is working on alongside his memoir.
Meghan Markle's podcast will be released first, and after testing the waters, Prince Harry will follow suit.
While the guest lineup for archetypes remains unknown, Russell Myers, royal editor at the Daily Mirror, believes that Meghan will pull in some big names for her podcast.
Myers predicts that Meghan will have lots of powerful and famous women who have overcome adversity to rise up through the ranks in their respective industries.
However, the couple's connection with certain political figures has polarized the couple's fan base in the US.
Founder and creator of the LA-based royal site Today for Daily.com, Kinsey Schofield, has claimed that the couple made a major misstep in aligning themselves with a political party.
Schofield noted that Meghan had been doing virtual events with Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton, and Stacey Abrams, all of whom are very democratic personalities.
She further added that they did a time special where they were clearly endorsing Joe Biden without blatantly saying his name.
This caused a split among royalists in the states who felt that the couple was breaking the rules by endorsing a certain political party.
Schofield also mentioned that anyone who wasn't on the democratic side of things thought that the couple was telling them who to vote for and hanging out with Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris.
She believes that the couple made a major misstep by immediately aligning themselves with a certain political party.
In conclusion, Meghan Markle's new podcast has sparked controversy with Likas objecting to the use of his voice in the teaser.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry is set to launch his own podcast focusing on mental health and self-care.
However, the couple's connection with certain political figures has polarized their fan base in the US, causing a split between royalists who feel that they are breaking the rules and those who disagree with their political affiliations.
