Meghan Markle’s Political Ambitions: Moving to New York to Make Inroads

Meghan Markle, the former actress and LA native, had a clear vision when she relocated her family back to her old California's dumping ground last year.

As the newly crowned Duchess of Sussex, she planned to rule over Hollywood, a town that once barely looked at her twice.

However, due to the pandemic and widespread distaste among the LA elite for the way Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, have publicly dissed the royal family, it hasn't quite been the glorious homecoming she envisaged.

According to sources, Meghan Markle is rumored to be turning her attention to her political ambitions in the coming months.

With her plans to conquer Hollywood dead in the water, Enterprising Meghan, 40, has set her eyes on a new prize, moving to New York City to maintain a residential address that would allow her to make political inroads in Manhattan.

A source claimed that Markle wants to pursue her political inroads so the best thing to do right now is to relocate to New York.

This way, she could also run for Congress in a city where the youth would most likely vote for a young, confident, socialist-leaning woman of color.

It's long been reported that Meghan has ambitions to be President of the United States.

A political insider with close ties to the current U.S. Vice President, Kamala Harris, tells that Meghan could be starting her journey to the White House by running for Congress, just not in her native California.

She won't get elected in her district, which is very centrist, and Meghan is seen as super woke, says the insider.

The current advice is for her to get a place in New York so she can run for Congress where voters are more likely to go for young, confident, socialist-leaning women of color.

Another source said that it won't be surprising if Markle pursues a political career very soon.

In fact, she's probably already flown over to scout apartments there.

She adores New York and has always dreamt of having a place there.

Ideally, Meghan and Harry, 36, are looking for a family-friendly but flawless penthouse to accommodate their children, Archie, 2, and 2-month-old Lilibet.

So, even though she and Prince Harry would be moving to New York soon, they will still keep their mansion in Montecito because they could afford it.

Money is obviously no problem.

They have their mansion in Montecito as collateral and Harry's $54 million book deal advances a deposit ready to go, so spending upwards of $100 million is nothing, dishes the source.

It won't also be surprising to learn that she has been looking for apartments in the Big Apple.

A second source close to Meghan adds, this is totally something I see her doing.

She's finding it harder to break into the LA scene than she thought.

Right now, she's sort of marooned out there in Montecito doing zooms when she really wants to be able to do something more tangible.

Meghan Markle is known for her activism and humanitarian work, and it seems that she is now ready to take on politics.
