Meghan Markle’s ultimatum to Prince Harry to make their relationship public or face a breakup has been revealed in a new book titled Courtiers, the hidden power behind the crown by Valentine Lowe.

The Duke of Sussex is said to have initially wanted to keep their relationship private to protect the Suits actress from media intrusion.

However, Meghan was insistent on going public and demanded that Harry issue a statement confirming their romance.

She also accused the palace of being unwilling to protect her from media scrutiny.

Harry eventually contacted Buckingham Palace Communications Secretary Jason Knauf to issue a statement condemning the racist and sexist undertones of some of the media coverage and confirming Meghan as his girlfriend.

Meghan wanted public validation that their relationship was serious and believed that the palace was not doing enough to shield her from media intrusion.

The revelations come after the couple put on a united front during a series of memorial services for the late Queen Majesty in the UK.

While there were hopes of reconciliation between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family, it's expected that they will return home to America without a peace deal struck.

Speaking following the Queen's funeral outside Westminster Abbey, CBS' Gayle King said that there have been efforts on both sides to sort things out, but there hasn't been any real rapprochement.

She added that big families always go through drama and turmoil, and it remains to be seen whether they will be drawn closer together or apart.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry is predicted to turn down Meghan Markle's US plans and return to support his father, King Charles, in the affairs of the monarchy.

GB News presenter Stephen Dixon believes that Harry will finally say no to Meghan and stop digging a hole for himself.

Dixon said that arguments and rows often lead to people digging themselves into a hole, but perhaps this experience has forced Harry to stop.

Fellow news anchor Anne Diamond expressed hope that Harry would indeed stop digging and say no to Meghan.

Dixon added that it would be interesting and nice if they could let bygones be bygones and try to make things work.

He also advised Harry to ditch the book, referring to the upcoming release of Meghan's children's book, The Bench.

The revelations about Meghan's ultimatum to Harry have shed new light on their relationship and the challenges they faced early on.
