Petition Filed to Remove Titles of Harry and Meghan Following Move to US

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and , have faced heavy scrutiny since they were given their royal titles by II following their wedding in May 2018.

Now, a petition has been filed by people in the county of Sussex to remove their titles, an idea that is likely to be approved by 90% after Parallel Parliament files a petition.

Since the couple gave up their senior royal roles in 2020 and moved to Montecito, California, there have been several petitions made online requesting that the Duke and Duchess be stripped of their royal titles.

The public's fall in rank and the rise of online petitions have led to Harry facing scrutiny by the media and British citizens.

The Duke and Duchess' royal titles have been demanded to be revoked in a number of internet petitions.

After Harry and Markle decided to step down as senior royals, a petition was started online asking that they lose their titles so they cannot be used for personal financial gain.

For example, the Queen's youngest son, Prince Edward, and his wife, the Countess of Wessex, go to counties of Wessex and that's what they do.

It's important to recognize that the people of Sussex are being served.

The Parliament filed a petition following the couple's move to the United States with a description that reads, “the title was given to them at marriage on the basis that they would be working royals serving the monarchy.

As this is no longer the case, the title cannot be used for personal financial gain.

It, therefore, has no purpose and must be removed.”

Furthermore, a new bill proposed by Labor MP could grant King Charles III the powers to strip the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from their royal titles.
