Prince and Princess of Wales Happy with Modest Residence at Adelaide Cottage
The Prince and Princess of Wales have made it clear that they want their children to have as normal an upbringing as possible while still fulfilling their royal duties.
In the summer of 2022, the couple moved into Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor Estate, and according to a royal expert, they have no plans to move into Windsor Castle.
Windsor Castle has significant historical value for the royal family, as it was where the late Queen Elizabeth II spent her later years.
However, the Waleses seem to be content with their current living arrangements at Adelaide Cottage, a modest property by royal standards.
Royal correspondent Camilla Tormini revealed on This Morning that the family prefers their current residence.
She said, “The Waleses don't want to move into Windsor Castle because they're actually quite happy in Adelaide Cottage, which by comparison is modest accommodation.”

Adelaide Cottage has a rich history dating back to the 17th century when it was a keeper's cottage.
In the 19th century, William IV converted the property into a summer house for his wife, Princess Adelaide of Saxe-Meningen.
The property consists of the cottage and the Adelaide Lodge and is located in Windsor Great Park.
The interiors of Adelaide Cottage have been described by interior designer and decorator Deepa Mehta Sehgar.
She said that the couple's sofa has a traditional design with clean lines, giving it a regal appearance.
The space is brightened with a splash of red and floral cushions that add warmth, making it formal yet inviting.
Adelaide Cottage reportedly has a nautical-inspired theme in the main bedroom, recycled from a 19th century royal yacht.
The home has a neutral colour scheme with royal blue, deep red and hints of gold, creating a calming effect that is perfect for a family with young children.
The home's modest size is in line with the couple's desire to offer their children an ordinary upbringing while still rooted in royal history.
Bagshot Park, another royal residence, is not far from Adelaide Cottage, and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, shares a close relationship with Catherine.
The proximity between the two properties may be appreciated by the women.
