Prince Edward Speaks Candidly About Royal Family’s Feelings on Split with Sussexes
Prince Edward, the youngest son of Queen Elizabeth II, has opened up about the royal family's feelings regarding the split with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
In an interview with CNN's Max Foster, the Earl of Wessex candidly spoke about the situation, describing it as “very sad.”
“We've all had excessive intrusion and attention in our lives,” said Prince Edward.
“And we've all dealt with it in slightly different ways, and list, we wish them the very best of luck.
It's a really hard decision.”
The prince acknowledged that families can experience rifts or fallouts, but added that the one within the firm has been played out publicly due to the nature of the royal family.

When asked about the Queen's feelings on the rift and how difficult it has been for her, Prince Edward replied, “It's difficult for everyone, but that's families for you.”
Prince Edward also briefly spoke about the birth of Meghan and Harry's daughter, Lilibet Lily Diana, saying, “Fantastic news about the baby.
That's great.
I hope they'll be very happy.
It's just families are families, aren't they?”
Prince Harry and Meghan announced their decision to step back as senior royals in January 2020.
They officially relinquished their status as full-time working members of the firm at the end of March 2020 and started their new lives in California.
One year later, they opened up about their decision to step back and what went on behind the scenes in the run-up to their exit during a two-hour-long interview with Oprah Winfrey.
They also spoke about their relationship with close members of the royal family and launched damaging allegations of neglect and racism.
Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex, recently mentioned the Sussexes' interview with Oprah.
Speaking to The Telegraph magazine, Prince Edward made light of it by replying “Oprah who?”
when asked about the sit-down chat.
Sophie, chuckling, added, “Yes, what interview?”
However, the Countess did mention Prince Harry, whom she last met on April 17 during the funeral of Prince Philip.
Careful with her comment, Sophie said it was nice to have a lengthy chat with Harry at Windsor Castle after the service.
In conclusion, Prince Edward's comments shed some light on how the royal family is feeling about the split with the Sussexes.
