Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to step down from their royal duties has left the Duke of Sussex looking as miserable as Edward VIII, according to royal biographer Hugo Vickers.

In an interview, Vickers claimed that both Harry and Edward VIII seemed to radiate sadness after cutting ties with the royal family.

Although Edward VIII never admitted regret about his abdication, Vickers claims he'd never seen anyone with such sad eyes as the former monarch.

Vickers believes that the reason the Queen always had such sparkling eyes was because she dedicated herself to duty.

He alleged that Edward VIII took the path of perceived happiness by marrying Wallis Simpson, but in the end, it's duty that makes you happy.

“If you woke him up at 4 am and asked if he had any regrets, he would have said no, but if you want to know what he really thought, look at his eyes,” the author said.

Mr Vickers argued that Prince Harry has also appeared unhappy after giving up his life as a working royal.

“As for the Duke of Sussex, who knows what's going to happen to him.

I think he looks thoroughly miserable,” he stated.

Vickers also addressed new King Charles III's vision for a slimmed-down monarchy, alleging it's risky for the royal family.

“I don't know how you can have a slimmed-down monarchy because people do want to see them,” he explained.

“The Queen and Prince Philip had about 2000 organisations between them, you've lost Prince Andrew and Prince Harry, who's going to do it?”

Following the Sussexes' new photo release, Paula B. Oncora asked why Meghan was copying Wallace Simpson.

She said, “there's no way Meghan will ever be as elegant as Simpson, she looks absolutely ridiculous.”

In response to Paula, one said, “Wallace has her detractors, many misinformed rumblings.

Not a fan of her personality, but she was always well-dressed and on the whole kept her views on the royal family silent, unlike some who's forever yapping her head off and looks like a bag of potatoes, even in Dior.”

Vickers' remarks came after Harry allegedly started to feel uncomfortable with Meghan Markle's behaviour.

Woman's Day claimed that Prince Harry was so smitten with his wife, especially after they first met, it almost reached a point where the Duke of Sussex seemed entranced by Markle.

But over the years and after a lot of people warned him against his wife's behaviour, Prince Harry is slowly realising that they might be right.

A source claimed that after just six years of marriage, Prince Harry realised that Markle is not all that she seems.

“He's beginning to realise he's backed himself into a corner and all these reminders about some of Meghan's behaviours are making him uncomfortable,” the source said.

The insider also claimed that a new royal book reminded Prince Harry of the fact that Markle once threatened to leave him if he didn't go public about their relationship.

Shortly after, he decided to tell the world that he was dating Markle.

“Sadly, it was to be the first of many times that she would threaten him into compliance.

Never forget, this is a woman who's fallen out with her entire family and has been instrumental in why Harry is alienated from his own,” the source said.

The insider also claimed that Prince Harry couldn't help but question his decision to wed Markle.

“He's seriously wondering if he's made a big mistake, but he feels trapped in a mess that's of his own making.
