Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix Docuseries Fails to Impress Audience

The highly anticipated second part of and 's Netflix docuseries was released on Thursday, but it has failed to impress the audience.

The six-part series, titled “Harry and Meghan,” primarily focuses on the events that led to the couple relinquishing their roles as British royals to start over in the United States.

The first three episodes, which were released last week, mainly discussed how the British media covered the couple.

However, in the final three episodes, Harry expressed more outrage towards , who is now the heir apparent, and went into greater detail about how his relationship with the royal household broke down.

Unfortunately, the controversial series has scored a lowly 43% on Rotten Tomatoes, with an audience score of 14%.

As of December 16th, the series has received a rating of 3.6 out of 10 on IMDb.

The low ratings have led to some royal ridicule on Twitter, with one user saying, “Because no one wants to see this crap.”

The low ratings also had a significant impact on Netflix's stocks, causing them to drop by 7%.

When the streaming giant announced that the couple had signed a multi-year deal with them, people were unhappy and immediately started to cancel their subscriptions.

Netflix lost almost 10% in stocks in a single day, from $547 a share to $295 today.

The docuseries was described as cringeworthy, exhausting, and an endurance test by various outlets.

One review described it as going disastrously for the couple.

Looking at the reviews will not make happy reading for Harry and Meghan or for the director of the docuseries, Liz Garbus.

The audience score makes for even worse reading, with positive reviews making up just 14% of the 4,000 reviews posted to the website as of Friday morning.

There have been some suggestions that this has been a result of review bombing.

The Atlantic Magazine's review of the final three episodes of the series calls them a cringeworthy end of Harry and Meghan on Netflix.

Reporter Helen Lewis asks readers if they were ready for three more hours of expensively lit retribution.

She bemoans the length of the docuseries, noting that Ken Burns needed just three times as long to get through the entire Vietnam War.

Forbes gave another withering assessment of the Netflix show, stating that it's going disastrously for Harry and Meghan.

While briefly dethroning mega-hit Wednesday for the number one spot on Netflix, the show quickly slipped back under it, and the three-hour premiere has been a bit roasted by critics and fans alike.

The overall gist of the show is that it isn't presenting all that much new information but is a straight retelling of old conflicts between Harry and Meghan and the royal family, as well as between them and the British tabloid press and paparazzi.

The fallout from Harry and Meghan's docuseries would probably be enough for a second season of the documentary, given what's likely to be happening now within the palace, Forbes says.

In conclusion, the highly anticipated second part of and 's Netflix docuseries has failed to impress the audience, with low ratings and reviews on both Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb.

The show has also had a significant impact on Netflix's stocks, causing them to drop by 7%.

Despite the anticipation, the series is not presenting any new information and is instead a retelling of old conflicts between the couple and the royal family.
