Prince Harry Faces Backlash for Endorsing Drug Use

Anti-drug campaigners have criticised the Duke of Sussex for sending the wrong message to the young generation after he spoke again about using drugs.

In a recent live-streamed interview with therapist Dr Gabor Mate, talked about how using cannabis and ayahuasca helped him get over mental health issues after the death of his mother.

Cannabis is classified as a class B drug and is illegal in the UK.

Ayahuasca is a psychedelic drug that is also illegal in the country.

Harry claimed that the drugs brought him a sense of relaxation, release, comfort, and lightness that he managed to hold onto for a period of time.

Dr Mate has been a vocal advocate of decriminalising drugs and has allegedly used ayahuasca to treat patients suffering from mental illness.

However, Harry's comments have put into question whether Little Soldiers, Well Child and the Invictus Games will drop him over his drug use.

Harry Markleblog wrote that if the charities and entities choose to continue their association with a known drug user who advocates the use of drugs, then they'll lose further support.

It's concerning how people can support their work when their patron endorses the use of drugs.

They should think carefully about their own reputations rather than cling to a toxic royal connection.

Fiona Spargo-Mabbs, who launched a drug education charity in her son Daniel's name following his accidental death at the age of 16 due to a drug overdose, termed 's comments as concerning and hugely irresponsible.
