Princess Beatrice Marries Italian Property Developer in Small Ceremony
Princess Beatrice, the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, has tied the knot with her fiancé, Italian property developer Adordo Mapoli Masi.
The couple exchanged vows in a small ceremony at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge in Windsor on Friday, July 17.
Buckingham Palace confirmed the news in an official statement, which noted that the wedding took place in compliance with all relevant government guidelines.
The ceremony was attended by the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, and close family members, although the full guest list has not been revealed.
Due to pandemic restrictions, only a maximum of 30 people were allowed to attend, and the bride's parents, Prince Andrew and the Duchess of York, as well as her sister Princess Eugenie, are believed to have been among the guests.
Despite the small size of the event, the chapel was an ideal choice for social distancing, given that it can accommodate up to 180 people.

It was also a practical decision, given that the bride's grandparents, who are both in their 90s and in a high-risk group, were in attendance.
After the service, the Queen spoke to national hero Captain Sir Tom Moore and commented that the ceremony was “very nice.”
Beatrice and Adordo's official wedding date announcement had been repeatedly postponed due to the global pandemic and the controversy surrounding Prince Andrew's reported friendship with convicted offender Jeffrey Epstein.
In February, The Sun reported that the couple's plans to marry had been cancelled.
However, despite all of the setbacks, the couple has finally tied the knot.
While many people were disappointed that the Princess wasn't able to have the big, beautiful wedding of her dreams, precautions were taken to ensure that the small event was compliant with social distancing regulations.
Congratulatory messages poured in on social media, with many wishing the newlyweds a good start to married life.
However, some people felt that it was unfair that the couple didn't get the lavish royal wedding experience that most other royal couples had.
It was also an opportunity for people to point out double standards in regards to how the tabloids treat certain members of the royal family differently.
Despite the mixed reactions to Beatrice and Adordo's wedding, their nuptials are a reminder that even in the midst of global turmoil, there can still be moments of joy.
The next step for the royal pair remains to be seen, but it will be interesting to see how they navigate married life during such an intense time.
