Some have called for Harry and Meghan to lose their royal titles, especially after they became financially independent from the Crown.

However, a constitutional expert has explained that only Parliament has the power to alter the line of succession.

Academic Ian McMarthan told Express.co.uk that neither the Queen nor a future King Charles would have a part to play in this other than having to give royal assent at the end of the process.

While neither the Queen nor Charles can alter the line of succession, the presiding sovereign can remove the titles as they please.

As far as styles and titles are concerned, the Queen is at liberty to strip whomever of whatever royal title and peerage.

Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield made this claim during her interview with the Daily Star.

While discussing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's stint in the spotlight, she admitted, “No one else really has any interest in having the Sussexes around so yes, they must jump at any opportunity they have to still appear to be in the fold.”

However, it is important to note that the Queen only has the power to remove titles and not alter the line of succession without the approval of Parliament.

It remains to be seen how this decision will affect Prince Harry's position in the line of succession and his future relationship with the Royal Family.

However, it is clear that the Queen has made a final decision and it is unlikely to be reversed.

For now, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to live in the USA with their children.

It is unclear whether they will return to the UK in the future or what their next move will be.

However, one thing is certain: the world will be watching closely to see how events unfold in the coming months and years.
