Queen Forced to Act Over Meghan’s Repeated Violation of Royal Title Limit

The Queen may have no choice but to take action over 's use of her royal title, according to a royal commentator.

Meghan has been accused of using her title to interfere in American politics after she introduced herself as the Duchess of Sussex during phone calls to US senators.

Royal commentator Daniela Elza has claimed that the Queen's primary concern is protecting the sanctity of the crown, and if Meghan's political ambitions continue to grow, the Queen may be forced to act.

In an article for News.com.au, Ms. Elza highlighted how members of the royal family traditionally do not get involved in politics.

She added that Meghan's recent phone calls are far from an isolated incident, and all signs point to the Duchess having set her sights on Washington.

Ms. Elza questioned why Meghan continues to use her title for political outings when she must know it's like holding a red rag to a bull.

Trending:

Meghan recently phoned Republican Senator Susan Collins of Maine and West Virginia's Shelley Moore Capitol to advocate for paid leave for new parents.

This move has been criticized by some who claim that the Duchess was using her title out of context.

A source close to Meghan told the newspaper she contacted members of Congress in her personal capacity as an engaged citizen.

Ms. Elza said that if the Sussexes continue to push their various political agendas, the question becomes whether Her Majesty will be forced to act in regards to their Sussex titles which were, of course, a wedding gift.

The royal commentator added that Meghan's repeated use of her title for political purposes is pushing the Queen into a corner, and it's only a matter of time before the Queen takes action.

Last year, the royal family was said to be less than impressed when Harry and Meghan staged their own War Graves photoshoot on Remembrance Sunday, distracting from the family's official commemorations in London.

This year, the Queen has been forced to cancel a number of major in-person events, including the COP26 meeting of world leaders, to ensure she's able to attend the Remembrance Sunday memorial.

Despite Remembrance Sunday clearly meaning a lot to Her Majesty, is said to be planning another US-based event this year, which has led royal expert Daniela Elza to criticize him in her new piece for News.com.au.

Ms. Elza believes that Harry's refusal to relinquish any stake in the annual commemoration can be read as something of a laying down of the gauntlet given that events around Remembrance Day are always a red-letter engagement for the royal family.

Ms. Elza emphasized that Meghan's use of her title for political purposes is a burgeoning problem for the royals.

The royal commentator added that members of the royal family have traditionally steered clear of politics, and Meghan's actions are causing concern among the royal family.

Ms. Elza questioned how long things can continue along this trajectory before Her Majesty is forced to act.

It remains to be seen what action the Queen will take, but it's clear that Meghan's use of her title for political purposes is causing consternation among the royal family.

The Queen's primary concern is protecting the sanctity of the crown, and if Meghan continues to push her political agenda, the Queen may have no choice but to act.
