Royal Family Joins Service at Westminster Abbey to Mark RAF Centenary

Members of the Royal Family, including Harry, Meghan, William and Kate, joined the Queen and other prominent figures at a service held at Westminster Abbey to mark the centenary of the Royal Air Force (RAF).

The day was packed with events, including a fly-past at Buckingham Palace later in the day.

The Duke of Cambridge arrived in his number one uniform of the RAF, as well as his RAF wings, recognising his role as a qualified RAF pilot.

The Duke of Sussex also wore his number one RAF uniform, with RAF Regiment shoulder flashes, in recognition of RAF Honington, and for his role as Honorary Air Commandant of the Base.

For the service, the Prince of Wales also wore the number one uniform of the RAF.

The Duchess of Cornwall wore a white silk dress by Anna Valentine and a Philip Treacy hat, while Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, chose to wear a coat by her favourite designer Alexander McQueen, a hat by Sean Barrett, and an RAF Dacher brooch.

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, wore a dress by Dior and hat by Royal milliner Stephen Jones, despite still being on maternity leave.

Kate, who gave birth to just 11 weeks ago, felt it was important to attend the celebrations.

It has been a busy week for the new mum, with ' christening held at the Chapel Royal at St James's Palace the day before.

The head of the Royal Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Hillier, said that the day was hugely important and the pinnacle of the centenary celebrations, bringing together the big parade, the new colour, and the flypast.
