Three Cheers for the King: Royal Superfans Meet Charles, Catherine, and William in Impromptu Walkabout on the Mall

The excitement is building in London as the coronation of King Charles III approaches.

Royal superfans have been camping out for days in hopes of catching a glimpse of the new King and his family, and they were not disappointed when Charles, Catherine, and William made an impromptu walkabout on the Mall.

The road leading to Buckingham Palace was cleared, and the crowd eagerly lined up, hoping to shake hands and exchange pleasantries with the Royal family.

As the King and the Prince and Princess of Wales arrived, cheers and shouts of “God save the King” echoed throughout the Mall.

The Royal superfans were thrilled and emotional, with one person saying that meeting the Royals was the happiest moment of her life.

Joan Seventy, a Royal fan who has been camping out on the pavement since Wednesday afternoon, was left in tears after meeting Charles.

She said, “He leaned forward purposefully and shook my hand, and it was just so beautiful.

I am proud of being here today.

I burst into tears afterward.

I have been here for William's wedding, Harry's wedding, the Jubilee, and now I've come for the coronation.

I wish himself and the very best.”

The King and his family took time to greet as many well-wishers as they could, with Catherine and William even posing for selfies with fans.

Catherine even joined one person in a video call, before speaking on another fan's phone before handing it back.

The encounter left one Royal family enthusiast ecstatic after shaking the King's hand the day before he is crowned.

As excitement ramps up for Britain's first coronation in 70 years, Charles and Catherine joined a lunch for VIPs at Buckingham Palace.

His Majesty was joined by working Royals at a special event for Prime Ministers and Governors General at the Palace from Midday, just after the heavens opened on London.

The Prince and Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Princess Royal and Vice-Admiral Sir Tim Lawrence were at the event.

Completing the Royal contingent were the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent.

There were 42 attendees in total, including UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Australia's Republican Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Prime Minister of New Zealand Chris Hipkins.

The coronation of King Charles III is a historic event, and it's clear that the excitement surrounding it is palpable.

The impromptu walkabout on the Mall gave Royal superfans a chance to meet the new King and his family, and the emotion and joy on their faces were evident.

It's a momentous occasion, and it's clear that the Royal family is beloved by many.

The King took part in a final coronation rehearsal at Westminster Abbey.

A 2300-strong congregation and a television audience likely to be in the tens of millions will watch him being crowned on Saturday.
