TV Host Criticizes Meghan Markle’s New Children’s Book
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, recently announced the release of her new children's book titled “The Bench.”
The book is inspired by her husband Harry and son Archie and tells the story of the special bond between father and son.
The audiobook of the picture book will be read by Meghan herself and is set to be published by Random House Children's Books on June 8.
However, not everyone seems to be excited about the book's release.
Australia Today host Alison Langdon went off script during a segment about the book and expressed her disinterest in the Duchess of Sussex's latest venture.
The 41-year-old disregarded the comparison of Meghan to famous children's authors Roald Dahl and J.K. Rowling, calling it a “stretch.”

Alison also couldn't hide her feelings when it came to Meghan narrating the audiobook.
She sarcastically remarked, “Can you imagine anything better?
I mean, pop it on in the car, pop it on at home when you're cooking dinner.
Meghan's dulcet tones.”
Piers Morgan, a fierce critic of Meghan, also spoke out against the book.
In his latest column for the Daily Mail, he called the Duchess a “shameless money-grabber” and argued that she should not be writing a book based on father and child relationships since she is no longer on speaking terms with her own dad.
He went on to call her a “cynical disingenuous manipulator” and Prince Harry a “spoilt brat teenager.”
However, Meghan explained in a press statement that the book started as a poem she wrote for Harry on Father's Day, a month after Archie was born.
She said, “That poem became this story.
My hope is that ‘The Bench' resonates with every family, no matter the make-up, as much as it does with mine.”
Despite the criticism, the book is expected to become a bestseller.
Many fans of the Duchess have pledged to buy two copies of the book each to support her.
The picture book has been illustrated by award-winning artist Christian Robinson and is set to deliver a heartwarming message about the bond between fathers and sons.
During the segment, Alison's co-host couldn't help but burst out laughing before joining in on the ribbing of the Duchess.
He joked, “They actually write poetry together.”
However, Meghan's fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the book and are excited to hear her narrate the audiobook.
