Why Megan Markle’s Latest Outfit Didn’t Quite Hit the Mark
The Duchess of Sussex, Megan Markle, is known for her impeccable style.
However, even the most fashionable individuals can have an off day, as was the case at the National Service of Thanksgiving over the Jubilee weekend.
Personal stylist and image coach, Melissa Lund, spoke about Megan's most recent outfit and why it didn't quite hit the mark.
Melissa started by acknowledging that Megan typically looks wonderful.
“I have to say that Megan has great taste and a good figure,” she said.
However, the expert went on to explain that the Duchess sometimes doesn't pay enough attention to her body shape and proportions.

This means that despite her clothes being gorgeous in theory, they occasionally don't look as good as they could in person.
Melissa analyzed Megan's Dior Haute Couture pearl-colored coat from the Jubilee celebrations and spotted a few style faux pas that the Duchess could have avoided.
Firstly, Megan has a short torso, which means that anything where the belt is on her natural waist will make her torso look too short for her body.
This was the case with the coat dress she wore.
“A short torso often goes together with a relatively short neck,” explained Melissa.
“You can only wear this high neckline if you have a long neck.”
Unfortunately, the coat swallowed Megan's neck, which wasn't helped by the wide-brimmed white hat she needed for the occasion.
Melissa also pointed out that there were a few wrinkles in the coat, which definitely shouldn't have been there, particularly because it was Haute Couture.
“A case of not enough fittings?
Definitely a case of not paying attention to detail,” she said.
In addition to these issues, the coat dress didn't do the Duchess' figure justice.
Megan is extremely slim and toned, but the expert suggested that this didn't exactly come across.
“Firstly, because Megan was wearing something underneath the coat, it added pounds to her frame,” she said.
“Megan has very slim legs so she needs to avoid a skirt with too much volume as this will make her legs look too skinny.”
Unfortunately, the Dior coat was a prime offender here.
In contrast to Megan, other female royals were able to create a slim silhouette through their choice of garments.
Kate Middleton, for example, wore a dainty butter yellow dress that nipped in her fabulous waist.
Previously, Lady Colin Campbell, who has published eight books about the British royal family, said that Megan Markle has fallen out of favor with some of the top-line couturiers.
She explained that Megan would have been somebody who the designers wanted to work with because she's a good-looking woman and high-profile.
However, she added that not so much anymore, at least not the top-of-the-line couturiers.
While Megan Markle is undoubtedly a fashion icon, even she can have an off day.
Melissa Lund's expert analysis of her most recent outfit shows that even the smallest details can make a big difference when it comes to looking your best.
