York Sisters’ Relationship Under Scrutiny After Prince Philip’s Funeral

The world watched as the Royal Family said their final goodbyes to Prince Philip at his funeral on Saturday, April 17th.

It was a somber and emotional event filled with touching moments, but there were also instances that raised eyebrows, particularly between and .

Beatrice and Eugenie, the daughters of and Sarah Ferguson, attended the service with their husbands.

Cameras caught becoming emotional at one point during the service, and her husband Eduardo Moppelli Mozzi comforted her as she briefly covered her face to hide her tears.

However, there was also a moment when Beatrice was seen smiling during the service.

That moment occurred when 's young daughter, , turned around, caught Beatrice's eye, and the two exchanged big smiles.

Despite these heartwarming moments, some Royal Watchers noticed tension between the York sisters during the funeral.

One person tweeted, “‘Seeing clips of the sisters today, I get a feeling things aren't too great between them.”

Another Royal Watcher replied, “Yes, you can see the tension even Beatrice's husband reflects it on his face, and I think Princess Anne does too,” referring to a clip of the family outside the church.

A third Royal Watcher wrote, “I would say it was icy.”

Some speculate that the body language between the sisters may have something to do with Eugenie's close relationship with and .

Others blame whatever is going on over Beatrice now being married and having a family of her own.

“I think Eugenie had the power in her relationship with Beatrice, and now she's married, Eugenie has lost the control,” one person said.

“Anne's reaction to Eugenie spoke volumes as well.

I think Eugenie is as self-entitled as her father,” another added.

A body language expert, Jesus Enrique Rosas, weighed in on 's dynamics with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

He suggested that Princess Eugenie is not Team Cambridge based on their body language during the Together at Christmas service in London's Westminster Abbey in December, which was hosted by Catherine.

According to Rosas, it was noticeable that and Middleton weren't close to Princess Eugenie based on how they greeted each other.

“When you see William greeting Zara, his right arm is closely embracing her.

There is closeness, there's his open and relaxed hand, you can see his inner elbow is basically matching the arm of his cousin.

There's enough contact to signal that they feel comfortable with each other and they are happy to meet,” Rosas said.

“Zara then steps forward to meet Catherine and she embraces her with her right arm.

Even if Catherine only embraced Zara with one arm, it was intense.

The two royal ladies even stayed close to each other with the Duchess of Cambridge touching her cousin-in-law's arm and tilting her head towards Zara and her husband, Mike Tindall.”

However, when it comes to Princess Eugenie, Rosas noted that there was no warmth or closeness between her and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

“William usually grabs people's arms to signal goodwill.

We already saw him embracing Zara, so it could have made sense if he did the same thing with Eugenie, but he didn't.

In fact, he just places his hand on her arm and back, nothing more,” Rosas explained.

While it's unclear what's really going on between the York sisters, Royal Watchers can't help but speculate.

Despite any potential tension, the two sisters have always been extremely close, so it's possible that any issues will be resolved in due time.
